Whatever time I get I utilize it in riding.
Clocked 7000 KMs in 4 months. Even done saddle sore on street, yet to send documents to IBA for verification.
How many KMs you have clocked till now.

I am not that big a rider.... clocked just 350kms in the past one month. Cant even think of Saddle Sore.
For me its more than enough that my family agreed to buy the bike.
Street is serving as a daily commuter for me.May be after some years when my family has enough confidence in me I will start long tours.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Hello Avin, at the speeds which I ride normally, the brakes are good enough. Braking can be improved by using better rubbers than MRFs, sintered brake pads and steel brake lines.Originally posted by avimonster View Posthi kinshuk...i am from pune thinking to book the 2016 street 750.
how r the brakes on this model..i had test ridden earlier model & due to brakes i dint get much confidence.
plz keep us updating with your experience with street750.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
Hello Avin, frankly speaking I dont have any budget for mods now. and even if I have the budget I would go for the below in the following orderOriginally posted by avimonster View Postgood tht we have some options to improve the braking
i think michelin tyres will give more confidence.
r u planning to go for screaming eagle exhaust ?
1. Michelin Pilot Street 110 for front
2. MRF Zapper Vyde 170 for rear (no Michelins available for Street in India)
3. Backrest
4. Better headlights
and then Exhaust mod.
But yes Pumba will get an aftermarket exhaust sometime, but my choice might be the Two Brother Racing exhaust instead of the Screaming Eagles.Last edited by kinshuk.arya; 12-03-2015, 11:15 AM.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
if ur riding with pillion rider..than for safety backrest should be at top of the list.
someone told me that changing exhaust to vans & hines or TBr will void warranty,do speak with HD guys.
one more thing i would like to know is, how does the bike behave in slow moving traffic.
does it throw a lot amount of heat?
Thanks for reply.

I am not riding with a pillion for now, but my wife does come along with me sometimes but that is a very rare case, so backrest pushed back on the list a bit.Originally posted by avimonster View Postif ur riding with pillion rider..than for safety backrest should be at top of the list.

any other exhaust apart from Screaming Eagles will void the power train warranty, which is another major reason I am planning to wait before switching exhausts.
Bike is superb in slow moving traffic no tantrums and very easy to ride, however with the engine running the engine heats up every 10 minutes, and it does throw some heat back at you pointed at both the inner thighs but that is bearable with jeans.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
Street 750 is definitely good for daily commute as well, but I dont think the 48 or the iron will pose any issue in daily rides. cant comment on other harleys...Originally posted by avimonster View Posti think this is the best bike in cruiser segment for daily rides n also for long distance touring,
other harleys r very heavy and difficult to maneuvere in traffic.
do keep us posting along with pics will be gr8.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
Harleys are not meant for stop and go traffic,,they r meant for open roads & US style highways.
constant clutching/de-clutching in heavy traffic - half clutching (we all do it some time or the other) - and your clutch is burnt
And they cost upwards of 25000 to replace.
also do consider ground clearence this byks have..some r very low, chances of scrapping r more on Indian roads .
i think street 750 being small harley has a gud ground clearence.
you made the right choice of getting street 750

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
I agree with you the Street 750 is lot better from other Harleys when it comes to riding in city. It has much better control at lower speeds and even can maneuver much easily in city. The only problem riding it in city is the slow traffic which makes it really hot and thats when the radiator fans starts and start pushing all the hot air to your legs which sometimes become really uncomfortable.Originally posted by avimonster View PostHarleys are not meant for stop and go traffic,,they r meant for open roads & US style highways.

I think Harley should make heat deflector for street soon to address this issue. Its not yet available anywhere as an aftermarket accessory also.

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
I quite agree with you guys that Street is one of the most vesatile cruisers available from Harley but my past one month of experience says that the motorcycle requires considerable upgrades if it is to undertake anything longer than 60-70km of journey. The foremost of them are
1. A better seat, and let me tell you I didnt like the seats on offer from Harley whether the Stock or the Tall boy. so as of now the only good seat available in India is the one from Sandeep Dahiya of Aeedeea from Bangalore
2. Better Headlights, again the Daymakers from Harley although good are not worth 32000Rs. I would rather install a pair of Hella Auxilliary lamps for 7-8k for long distance touring in the night
3. A windshield if one is planning to speed up north of 80kmph, but then again anything north of 80kmp on a motorcycle becomes quite risky and worth on a motorcycle. Also some vibrations starts to creep in as soon as you go near 100kmph.
4. Much better tyres than the MRF zappers, the rear one fishtails even with slight water on the road and if you are braking at the same time. the best options available without importing in India as of now are Michelin Pilot Street and Pirelli Sports Demon for the front and MRF Vyde 170 section for the rear.
5. A good backrest and as per norm the one from Harley is again not worth at close to 3000Rs.
the others will include
1, Hazard switch
2. luggage mounts
3. steel braided brake lines
4. A mobile Phone charger (which apparently is a standard feature on some of the scooters)
5. bigger fuel tank (stock one can hold fuel only for 200kms)
I have also given the motorcycle for servicing along with the oil leakage issue. Will update soon with the details as soon as I get it back.

Re: Pumbaa: Red Harley Street 750
I personally have not felt any vibrations at 100kmph and I have done quite a good speed runs. I have observed vibrations once I cross 120kmph. If you are experiencing vibrations at 100kmph or below I would suggest you to talk to service engineer at service center. There can be some other reasons for vibration also.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Post3.
