Great info sk8er, thanks. A small correction, the tacho is redlined at 17 not 19. (Tacho is calibrated to 20, and reaches it max bhp at 14). I am dying to know how long it takes in reaching 0-60 and 0-100. Any idea dudes ??

The price is justified as it is a CBU. You should not compare the price with the indian made bikes.
May be a day will come when the bike will be available for around 1.3 lakhs, if BAL starts manufacturing it in india.

I ve been trying to research about the Balius 250 and I think its not even in production anymore by Kawasaki .. its not on their website www.kawasaki.com under their product range.. it was a 1994 launch, thats ten years ago!! So I am very skeptical about whether it can ever be launched!! If you read the BS motoring story it clearly looks like Bajaj has said there is no plan to launch it but the writer a pompous Mr Marmar is trying to push it by asking people to write to him etc..

Yeah Mukesh, you do have a point there. It seems kinda fishy coz I don't think the writer represents NEITHER Kawasaki NOR Bajaj Auto Ltd. The writer claims, he got the bike from BAL for the review. We have seen the pics of the bike, it has Indian no.s Plus the whole story can be confirmed from BAL folks. It can't be a big lie all together coz then it will cripple the image of the magazine.

I think (its my personal opinion) that a review printed in a decent (not great tho) mag can't be a white lie. It was just plain stupid of the writer to try to become self-appointed survey agent and ask readers to send our opinions to HIM instead of Kawasaki or BAL. If Bal wants to launch Balius II through CBU route, BAL is quite capable conducting its own feasibility surveys. The stupid newbie writer should not have tried to become their agent.

Let us hope Kawasaki and BAL would decide to launch this bike in India. It beats COMET both in price and performance. If the price could get somewhere around 1.3 lacs, it wd sell in more no.s and . . . . more the sales, better the support.
