Thanks for the reply.. i'm new here and bit confused between z900 and cbr650f.. as kawasaki offering mee the bike at the same amount of 650f, i've test rode both the bike and felt z900 is more aggressive in terms of power, raw power of 125bhps is too much for indian road and traffic..
On the other hand cbr has better road presence and linear powered bike.. low on maintenance and spares aswell.

    What's your thought?

Depends on what you prefer, the z has a earlier pull but to the fairings and engine the Honda does quite well, the cbr is a better option if you plan on a fair bit of touring, the z also can tour but the wind blast will tire you out despite a windscreen, its the case for any naked bike, but the Honda will be definitely cheaper to maintain than the kawasaki, you can also look at the new Suzuki gsx s750, sits between the cbr and the kawasaki but has the added advantage of having electronics such as 3 mode traction control and low rpm assist, and it's coming in as CKD at 7.45 ex showroom Delhi.

Should be cheaper I reckon due the CKD tag but should be definitely cheaper than the kawasaki and on par with the Honda in terms of cost and then its a good buy overall.

I assume if it's just regular maintenance / oil and service, that should cost you anywhere between 7-9k per year.
Changing tires / balancing them etc will be extra.

              Plus the accessories you add.

Picked up a brand new Z900 Grey edition from delhi last month.
Covered about 420kms in about 20 days.
Is xtra premium and speed good enough for the bike because speed 97 isn’t available everywhere.

Use regular fuel from a quality bunk.
It shows you are in Gurgaon. 97 is available in Delhi.
Buy some cans and get 97 and store it.
Alternate between regular and 97. Avoid anything in between like speed etc.

Hi, have been on just speed and regular petrol during long trips. Crossed 14k kms. Performance wise no issues. But idle rpm drops every 1k kms. I have to adjust it. The idle rpm drop is due to low octane fuel. And seems other super bike owners have the issue too.

                        Re: Kawasaki Z900 -

                        Hello all,

I am a soon to be owner of the Z900 - actually, it was to be delivered today but due to some issues at the RTO end, it is being registered and delivered only on Monday.

I am happy to see that almost everybody who have ridden this bike are quite positive and from that perspective, I believe I have made the right decision.

I will try and pen down the purchase experience and my first thoughts about the bike as soon as I take delivery and ride it for a few days.

                        Cheers!
                        Krish

                              Hi all
I am planning to buy a used Kawasaki z800 but I have a few questions regarding it before I take the leap.

                              1. First and foremost I'll be upgrading to it from using an RC 200 previously for about 8k KMS. Would the power of the z800 be overwhelming or too much in this case?

                              2. Mileage is not an issue however I'm curious to know about the figures owners are getting in city/highway rides.

                              3. Maintenance and spare parts availability are also a concern along with Average service cost every year with 12,000 KMS riding every year.

                              4. I intend to use this bike as a daily commuter in Bangalore...would it be appropriate or would it be very uncomfortable given its weight?

All and any answers to this is much appreciated !

                              Cheers!!

                                - Not much, the throttle response is aggressive like the RC

                                2. Mileage is not an issue however I'm curious to know about the figures owners are getting in city/highway rides.
                                - Expect 18-25

                                - Usual spare parts 2-3 days, body parts and metal parts - 3-4 weeks

                                4. I intend to use this bike as a daily commuter in Bangalore...would it be appropriate or would it be very uncomfortable given its weight?
                                - Can get hot in b2b traffic, as long as you are ok with the throttle response you should be good.

                                Replied above..

Edited - Dude make up your mind between the z650, z800, z900, or z1000. Each bike has its own behavior and mannerism
