After seeing the registration I now remember seeing this bike in Bombay in '05. It used to have a Blueflame exhaust with twin outlets. It even had a fender eliminator kit.

I faintly remember that contest, but distinctly remember two of those bikes. One was a bling blue zx - 9r and the other was a blue-black combo Yamaha Thunderace YZF 1000R running an Over exhaust can.Originally posted by dreamchaser View Posthey do u guys remember some time back i guess it was year 1998 i dont remember it right but yeah coming to the point levis had a competetion when you buy jeans from them and the first prize was 3 superbikes...if my memory is right..one was a black and green ninja,a honda and one more!!!they had 3 first prizes!!..and i know that a bangalore man won the ninja!!lucky bloke!!!!
From hearsay, all the bikes were brought down used. The Kawasaki was in Dadar till a couple of years back. The Thunderace was in Bombay till 2005, then sold to someone in Ahmedabad. It apparently met with a horrific crash, rather totalled in Ahmedabad a little later.

yeah i guess it was then and the castrol passion hunt also gifted an R1 to Malcom the winner right!...hey but is it like only the bike is given free or does he have to pay the insurance and the taxes..that would come to about 1.4 lks!!!in most competetions with cars as prizes you will be doomed if you decide to take thw car because only the 'car' come free..all the extra paisa has to be borne by the winner...The Week had even carried out a story about a guy who won a Merc E class and is trying to sell it because he could not afford the later payments!~!!Originally posted by Bladerunner View PostThe Thunderace was won by someone I knew. He sold it to a friend of mine in Pune.

That guy had to pay the gift tax for the Thunderace that time which was around 2L. He sold it for 4.4L.Originally posted by dreamchaser View Postyeah i guess it was then and the castrol passion hunt also gifted an R1 to Malcom the winner right!...hey but is it like only the bike is given free or does he have to pay the insurance and the taxes..that would come to about 1.4 lks!!!in most competetions with cars as prizes you will be doomed if you decide to take thw car because only the 'car' come free..all the extra paisa has to be borne by the winner...The Week had even carried out a story about a guy who won a Merc E class and is trying to sell it because he could not afford the later payments!~!!
