  • [Photo Feature]: Harley Davidsons ride into Bangalore

Harley Davidson India, organised a Founders' Ride this past Sunday (6th Dec '09) in Bangalore.
As is obvious, this was reason enough for me to wake up early on an otherwise lazy Sunday morning, ..

Here are some first ever pics of the Harley Davidsons in India, to have you go drool over the legend..

    PS: Picture Jackpot COMING SOON..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Could we have some more details, write some text, give the context etc...

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Thanks for the approval Ken da..

The ride was mostly directed towards the media, to create awareness of the brand's arrival in India. I was told that a similar ride had already taken place in New Delhi & Mumbai.

Some of the bikes were brought in by Harley Davidson, while some others belonged to current owners. There were a total of 15 Harleys (interestingly, all were Delhi registered) in the convoy, that started from Jayamahal Palace Hotel, went to the Airport, and came to a halt at the historic and magnificent Bangalore Palace. The total distance of the ride was 65Kms.

The riders were ones who had a lot or riding experience behind them (some as much as 20+ years), & some of them were included owners of a BMW bike, an R6, etc. As it is not unusual for a Harley, there was a female rider as well.

The ride to & from the Airport was very organised, & the convoy moved in a proper staggered formation, in 2 groups, with distance barely separating them.

There was a jeep carrying media (wielding & shooting the bikes wih their magnificent DSLRs), and some other media vehicles, driving beside the convoy to take some best shots.

Overall, it was a great opportunity for cruiser fans, to see the legend up close.

PS: There are some videos as well, which I will upload in due course

Thanks for sharing, Tibby. Wish Harley organizes one event in Chennai.

I hope there are more pictures coming up? I only see macros and no full shots of bikes? Do let us know the models that were present too.

I had spotted a small convoy a couple of weeks back here in Delhi. Seems they are the same bikes.

were you riding along with the convoy? I saw a black R15 riding along. Coming to think of it now, maybe it was you!

I was supposed to ride one of the bikes, but backed out because I had already enrolled for the indimotard track school in Coimbatore. No regrets!

I'm really curious now! How did you guys get a chance to be able to ride one of those mean machines?
Was it on invite, or one had to register or some sort of thing?
