I have Bridgestones(battalax) on my bike and clocked around 3.5k and going good.

As suggested by rossiter go for michelins. I think planetdsg has it.

That is the category that you should be looking for. You will have similar products from other manufacturers as well though I do not remember the names and models. Go for Pilot Power and NOT Pilot SPort. And get yourself 55 Profile.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

you really need to consider what sort of riding you are doing with this bike, pilot powers, pirelli corsas and the like are great for fast twisty riding. if there is a shiny patch of new rubber on the back then you arent leaning all the way and using the tyre what it was designed for. to be honest i dont think they are many roads in india where you can actually do that. so after 4000 k's of straight line riding , your tyres will have a flat spot in the middle and make the bike handle like shit. if you want optimum grip you change tyres when they develop a flat spot.

I would recommend a touring tyre something like pilot spot or pilot road. Pilot road will be perfect for riding in india. they give you enough mileage and are better on crap roads. and if you want to push on them you can lean the bike all the way over and not worry. they last twice as long as pilot powers which makes sense when you look at their price.

btw ive ridden on all these tyres extensively.

This is exactly why the Michelin 2CT's form such an awesome package! The centre of the tires is of hard compund construction, for slower wear and tear and the sides are of softer compound to provide that needed extra bit for the corners.
For an all rounder touring set of tires, I'd bet my money on the BT - 020, nice set that one.

the centre is about as soft as the normal pilot powers but the sides are even more sticky. which means the centre will go as fast as a set of normal powers.
