        Hehe Thanks.
        Initially even we were
But sumhow we all put in some major hard work.
lots of research for design and parts.
Attendance at college suffered and plus we had our teachers breathing down our necks during the Oral exams.

Yes quite a few colleges are participating in the international events.
This is the first time this competition is being conducted in india.
Intially the engine was restricted to 600cc so even we were planning for a bike engine but then the rule was changed and now its compulsary to use a Maruti 800cc engine owing to the lack of spares and difficulty to procure parts for superbike engines.

Right now the competition rules have made it compulsary for us to use Maruti 800cc engines which has been sponsored by Maruti Suzuki India.

Pics and other details i will send them to you but only after 3rd july.
Im not supposed to give out all the details before the competition.

But i can tell you that we are using a double wishbone setup with a pushrod.

Dont mean to dishearten you but our workshop is nowhere near comparable to the one's that you see on tv.
Its a simple place with simple epquipment.

Here is a pic of the completed car on the MMRT.
Will add a lot more photos and give a detailed report soon.

                      Plati alloys!! Oooohhh!!

The car seems to have turned out pretty neat! What engine did Maruti supply for the car? And I see the nitrox rear suspension (used on recent bikes) in the front. What is it for? I mean why is it put up that way?

Also, I see bonnet scoops at the rear end. Are they for any real purpose or only for the looks?

EDIT: Just noticed in the above posts that you have used a Maruti 800 engine.

The shockers that we have used in the front are from the TVS apache 180.

The suspension setup in the front is a double wishbone with pushrod activation.
The shockers are mounted this way for easier packaging and also it is very easy to adjust the suspension in terms of preload, travel, etc bu means of modifying the bellcrank.

Also the bonnet scoops are there for function first and then form.
The scoop at the side if for air intake for the engine.
The air filter is mounted just behind that.
The scoop at the top is to provide air for engine cooling as the engine is totally enclosed.

the weight of the vehicle is approximately 350 Kgs.
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels by drive shafts that come out of the gearbox which has a built in differential.
