500modder,
The samrat alloy rockers don't last too long. They get worn out pretty soon. They are popular abroad as they shave some weight off the valvetrain. People who have been using them in conjunction with other performance parts have complained of frequent replacement. If you are not looking for out and out performance, the OE rockers will serve you very well. Keep up the good work.

Hey 500Modder, any progress on the cafe racer performance mods?Originally posted by 500modder View PostStill have a few tweaks to make on the cosmetic stuff, but I'm itching to work on some engine / performance mods. It's already got a shaved & ported head, 18T sprocket, flat-slide carb and free-flow exhaust. Any other ideas?

But I'm planning to take my camera out on the next ride, now that it's not raining any more. WIll take some close ups too, including of the new rearsets.
You can buy an expensive smiths replica in the UK. The one I have on my bike is the low cost desi alternative - basically a modified local meter. I still like it though. It's available all over Delhi - check Karol Bagh. If you don't live in Delhi check online at: India's leading distributor of motorcycle parts. Specialists in Royal Enfield spares and accessories. - if you're squeamish about buying on the net, you can get the contact details off the net and speak to the proprietor Ashish Nayyar. He can mail you the meter wherever you are. One problem with it is the backlight doesn't shine throught the faceplate very clearly for night viewing. Otherwise it works great. I still have to check its accuracy with my GPS. Will post my findings soon.
So far the performance mods include 30mm Flat slide carb, K&N type air filter, free flow (straight through) exhaust shaved and ported head and 18T sprocket. I have also put on a pair of rearsets.Originally posted by Grease Monk View PostHey 500Modder, any progress on the cafe racer performance mods?
Upcoming mods: oil cooler, new exhaust (with one baffle for a bit of back pressure), also thinking about high lift cams.
Anthony in Bandra is going to help with the remaining mods.
I've been clocked at 135kph by a guy on a GSXR, so I guess the mods are making a difference. I'll confirm this with my GPS one weekend.

About rearsets for Enfields
@500Modder: That is one very sweet looking ride sir.
Anyway, did you buy the tank online? Also, I'm interested in rearsets for my bike. I'd love to know what a pair should cost if made locally (mumbai) and who does them
Thanks in advance
Oh. Can someone tell me where I can find Anthony?

Power upgrade on 350/500cc
if u want just performance mods
On my cruisers i often do larger jet in carb + over boring of cylinder + larger pistons + valve seat excavation + dual exhaust boring + porting + free flow silencers which can be chromed if u wish.
the above as rightly stated do give quite a decent boost to the power esp the dual exhaust bore which also has the advantage that u get actual 2 silencers which work- so not just a cosmetic job.
U can call me on 98103 45 497 or check out the site on www.dreamriders.co.in

I bought the tank from Royal Motors in Karol Bagh, Delhi. They have a website and you can order online. I have to warn you that the mounting points at the front of the tank are a little off and you'll have to modify them.Originally posted by tallkien View Post@500Modder: That is one very sweet looking ride sir.

Anthony can make your rearsets. They shouldn't cost more than 2-3k. You can find him in the garage lane at the intersection of Juhu Tara Road and Khar Dhanda Road.
