RE is not concerned with the buying power of the Indians.. its about their production capacity of the UCE500 .they need something for the European/US markets which meets the Euro 3 norms.. and they have only this machine.. the UCE500 FI. In India, im sure they will phase out the AVLs within a short span of time.. the next will be the Electra 5s UCE350.Jawa 250 1970

The Classic UCE was caught testing on the outskirts of Chennai. But then, Like Prashanth had observed, the test could be one of the many endurance tests that manufacturers routinely carry out before releasing a product. Coming to the UCE500, It will probably be launched in India, albeit at a much later day and date, maybe after the firangs thoroughly beta test it for us

The 4S's production has been stopped and the 5S also might be under the axe after March. So, people contemplating the 5S Electra better hurry. I have Royal Enfield's official confirmation by email on this matter. I'm sorry, I cannot post the excerpts of the Email here due to Royal Enfield's confidentiality clause.
