Death of the Cast Iron

Many people who have it and don't understand it DO CRIB about it. Complaints of cast irons by idiots who don't understand inherent problems and refuse to accept the Bullet as it is has caused all this change in Management decisions.Originally posted by bulletRanga View Post

Yeh to Hona hi tha
I am extremely happy that they have stopped production of CI engines.. now they will be focusing on the new UCE i hope... just wanna lay my hands on UCE 500...
not many having a CI bullet will buy another one .. and now a days not many youngsters are willing to go for CI ones ... all my friends have bought thunderbird TBTS only ... reliability of engines really count these days ... my friends in software companies dont have time for the daily niggles of CI engined bullets ... thats what they said ..
i hope they would christen the AVL engines as Bullet now ...
The Triumph scramblers of now dont have the old engine of the sixties ..
Hope people will realise it ...

You don't understand the difference then between the 2 types of engines - the 2 classes of bikes - their comfort / benefit and reliability.Originally posted by deepmetal View Posti hope they would christen the AVL engines as Bullet now ...
Thunderbird is a good brand by itself - what benefit do you see by calling a TBird as a Bullet - that's just what I have been saying all along that Royal Enfield Management is catering to poseurs who can't be Man enough to take care of a Bullet.

And neither do they make a clatter like AVL which looks like the technology was developed in some country worse than third world nation - like maybe in Ethiopia
The ancient CI engine is still giving good competition to the AVL engine. Hero Honda, Bajaj and TVS have better technology developed in Indian factories than Indian Royal Enfield.

Wait a minute... you guys are cribbing about RE dumping the CI engines in place for the UCE ones?
Why would you do that? I'm no bullet owner and so would love to know why. The thump still exists doesn't it? Also, its ok to forgive your ride for breaking down in the middle of the night, in the remotest of regions, all for the sake of love! But, to shit on the bike that refuses to breakdown and still delivers the thump.. doesn't make sense.
Bulleteers please do elaborate on what exactly is missing!
Or is it simply that CI engines post a much tougher macho image and Uce ones are more sissy? Pray to God you say no to this statement..Riot Engine |Norton WD 16H | BSA C11G |Enfield Fury
Thanks to Mr. Muthukumar, B&QRest Garage for these acquaintances!

I am extremely happy that RE has finally introduced bullet 500 classic with UCE engine though not in India for now...but I want to see it here soon (fuel injection, 27.5 bhp, 18 inch wheels) and I will not mind RE shutting down on CI engines for UCE. Infact its good to stop making CI engines completely and finally concentrate on making UCE engines.
PS - I own a bullet electra 5s CI

Hi Slayer,
You are beyond ridiculous
Only a complete idiot buys a Rs 90000 motorcycle because he likes the bloody noise it makes from the exhaust.
Even diesel autorickshaws make a lot of noise - nice "THUMP" - but no I would rather ride my cast iron than diesel rickshaw or the likes.

Its a package not parts - THINK OF THE GESTALTEN eXperience !!!
Can you please list how UCE is a better technology - because I haven't seen or used one. It may be better than AVL but then there are many Indian bikes better in many ways to Enfield's CI and AVL products.Originally posted by 46 the Greatest ever View PostI Infact its good to stop making CI engines completely and finally concentrate on making UCE engines.
If anyone knows more about UCE engine please share - FI is there in P220 also - so how is Enfield's FI better ? Is FI single handedly making UCE engine the best thing in the world ? ? ?Last edited by 2write; 10-31-2008, 11:57 AM."Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge." - Paul Gauguin

@2write: Even I havent seen or used a UCE engine...but whatever I have read about it here and there gives an impression that UCE would be much better in overall performance and reliability. For example, the integrated gearbox system in UCE which isn't the case with RE bikes so far in India, is a good thing to have finally and it should improve the overall functioning of the gearbox and finally free of any false neutrals. Otherwise, my knowledge about UCE engine is as good as you I guess

yeah, so far they have yet to release FI in India anyways.
The UCE is nothing but same small shell like Honda/ Bajaj, etc - only with Twinspark."Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge." - Paul Gauguin

dear friend,
say whatever you want ... do you think that RE is not gonna capitalize on the bullet brand name after they pull out the CI engined bikes ? they surely will .
.. it a short time you will see AVL engined bullets on road much to your displeasure....
i dont want to see the difference betn CI engined and AVL engined enfields ( shall i say bullet now ) as i just want to ride a better , more powerful bike with the comfortable upright riding position of the enfield... i dont care if its an enfield or not..
you can be rude to me if you want
, but you cant prevent the inevitable..
here goes a toast to the death of CI engined bullets and in advance i welcome the AVL engined bullets of future !!! CHEERS !!!!!

...if UCE is better than CI engines in every way then I do not mind if it doesnt look as big! Most of the companies in the world are now concentrating on making engines look smaller, compact in order to save weight and what not! its a good thing I would say if it works betterLast edited by 46 the Greatest ever; 10-31-2008, 04:05 PM.

So enjoy your AVLs while you can.

i dont onw a bullet although i have ridden one extensively in the hilly areas of north east....Originally posted by 2write View PostThe future is UCE not AVL.

i really did enjoy the AVL over the CI...
AVL or UCE both are testimony to RE's dreams of being a more than a legend ..its more about the attitude than about technology .. .. but not CI please...
The AVL is good... loved the machismo..
TBTS is even better...
maybe i will buy a bullet 500 (UCE) once it is released in india (only if it can match the reliability of Pulsars and Karizmas)... till then i am happy with my pulsar 180....
No hard feelings guys, but lets celebrate..
A moment like this doesnt come so often.. Think of better days to come with RE offering us big reliable bikes in another 10 years .. I can just dream of the better days to come ... Such a big move really means that RE is finally getting up from its slumber and is actually trying to provide us with some CLASS machines...
