AVL is also as good as dead.

So enjoy your AVLs while you can.
+1 on that, the AVLs will actually be phased out soon, some time in next year, & I am not saying this on intuition.

      Hey deepmetal!

I am sure that's just your own personal opinion, & I respect it but then let me just say that AVLs are also not such a great thing to be welcomed. Even they are not going to remain around for a very long time, & maybe that's because despite all the advances that people might think AVL has, it isn't all that good, & RE knows it.

And it's not about AVL being good or UCE being the future, it's mainly the indifference that the company has towards it's own countrymen. I have said this before also, an Indian company producing bikes for export only, why. This is what feels bad. Agreed that they make more profits out of exports but then at least start the sales by launching it in limited numbers. And then even if they do, owners face disappointment due to poor availability of spares.

Plus, Bullet is a bike which is mostly bought out of love for the machine, & people buying Bullets don't compare it to the latest technology available out there in the market, because if you start doing that, you can find better technology at a better price, even with the case of TBTS.

@46 the Greatest ever: The Thunderbird with UCE (TBTS) is heavier than the previous version, so the point of a smaller engine to reduce weight is out.

      Take care.

      Happy thumping,

        REMINISCING:
I had a hard time deciding on buying a Bullet. I had my mind made up on buying HH KariZma because even today it is easily topping on my scorecard points. But then 2 things happened :
        1. Hero Honda released sticker version of KariZma instead of FI to compete with P220.
        2. 500 CI went off the market forever.

I wish I had the old discussion thread where all these quandaries were pondered over with the help of all XBHPians and that's how I have an Electra CI 4s.

            You are beyond ridiculous

Only a complete idiot buys a Rs 90000 motorcycle because he likes the bloody noise it makes from the exhaust.

Even diesel autorickshaws make a lot of noise - nice "THUMP" - but no I would rather ride my cast iron than diesel rickshaw or the likes.

Its a package not parts - THINK OF THE GESTALTEN eXperience !!!
You have the heart to compare the thump of an Enfield to that of a Piaggio? And I'm the ridiculous one here?

Bro, all the Bulleteers I've met worship the thump and you call it noise? Hehe.. Ok back to the point, how many years have you been a Bulleteer? Have you ridden the UCE for a sufficient time that you are worthy of comparing the two? Im sure you'll be saying yes to the previous question or this topic wouldn't be here, so tell me, in what way did the UCE degrade your experience compared to a CI engined Bullet?

I know its gonna be hard to put the difference in words, but I'm practically begging you to do so.. The emotions invovled.. the works.. For once we could try being like our good ol' Old Fox, putting "un-put-able" feelings into words!

Not to leave out analogies, why would say no to a girl who bangs great, goes with you wherever you go and never nags you for attention and instead take the one that holds the sleeve of your shirt all the time and whines and whines and finally gives you what you want?

all i need is a bike for touring that has the kickass look of RE or RX 100, silent as a Karizma, handles like a pulsar or RTR and stable & smooth as an R15.... and it should be within 2 lacs...

              thats all...

RE or not RE it doesnt matter ... but shaayad RE hi pela company hoga aisi ek bike ke saath...

                Hi Slayer,

I already put it into words - so read it - "Gestalten experience" !!!

Gestalten (noun) : A configuration or pattern of elements so unified as a whole that it cannot be described merely as a sum of its parts

Well RE should be punished! How can they do this to us?! How can they develop new bikes according to International Standards?! Why should they try to be like the Nortons and Triumphs of today?! Curse them for introducing newer models to us!

Yes, indeed, curse them - because they never give us these new models and the ones released in India are in no way superior to the Cast Iron except on a few KM of mileage.

                          ^Today I watched a Machismo A350 which got a heart transplant;
Yes ,CI engine replacing AVL one.costed him Rs8000 including all other modes done too.
So much for technology(As in people reverting to CI models) .I hope RE will make CI models pass Bharat Stage(EU).I am positive.

?!?!?! The Machismo A350 already has a CI engine, right?! Thought the A350 was the older Machismo. Or the name is still retained?!

no the Machismo 350 and a350 were different only difference was that the 350 had a STD 350 engine where as the a350 has a AVL machismo engine like the one in yours.

It is a sad day in Enfield history but we old-school lovers have to come to grips that the good-ol days are over. yes we may call the AVL a sham and the UCE a disgrace but these Bulls have to carry the Enfield mantle from now on.

Sayin we want the old bull back is like askin for Harley to re-start production of the Knucklehead the Panhead etc etc. Now Harley are making V-rod's and Night-rod's. Lets just hope RE go that way and bring out some Tech that will make all us Bulleteers old-school and new-school PROUD
