  • Got to make him a smart looking muscle boy - Yezdi Roadking 1996

After a long search me got the one I was looking for, An Yezdi Roadking CDI Black with smooth running engine.

I did't give much importance for the cosmetic looks. I don't want to post the price of bike in this thread. What I have looked for is a bike running with smooth engine.

Its a Karnataka registered bike so I need to get the NOC papers cleared.
Restoration work will be starting after some 4 or 5months. By that time I'm planing to collect parts and gather more info from all possible ways.

I'm new to the world of Yezdi's, Hope all you will help me for gaining more knowledge about this bike and restore it.

At present I'm thinking of restoring it and giving a look like this

Ah, nice! Looking forward to the restoration job. 'Roadking' on the panels in golden will look better rather than the red in the pic.

So finally you decided to go for this one. Good for you. I hope you have all the right contacts across states to start up with the restoration. Good idea to start of with paperwork job and let the restoration follow thru.
Will try my best to help the best I can. All the best for your rebuild.

Treat :- Sure Sri....plan your next ride to Kerala...

Received New Registration card from Karnataka State for my RK.
Another interesting fact is that the insurance for this bike is lifetime one.
Next step is to get the NOC from Karanataka. But the lifetime insurance becomes invalid
when the registration is done in Kerala.

Some people advice me not to change the registration since I can use this insurance for life time..
Even then I suppose I have to take the bike to Karanataka in every 5 years for fitness and the bike ca't be changed into my name since I don't have a permanent address in Karnataka.

                      What do you people say??

Hi Sanjitjoseph congrats on your search for this bike, I am no expert with Jawa/Yezdi but have a few 2strokers one of them is my 1969 Jawa.after a look on your pic seems you have a good yezdi there , do check the engine. Most imp when you are restoring it let this be your first question - standard or modified???
second try to get a parts manual of your particular model (never try to replicate on someone's bike pic as it wont be 100% all the time)
So someone here should be having a hard or soft copy of it.
also do join the yezdi/Jawa club .these enthusiasts have good knowledge, do's & dont's , who are the good mech's & last but not the least to source the parts from.
also get ready to travel to do some shopping for the parts. BEST OF LUCK

                          Hi Sanjith
Congrats on the purchase you can easily bring your bike to the shape.
Paint the "Yezdi" and "Roadking" decals in golden color.
Dont ever have a grab rail for Yezdi.
