      Hades - Ciggi Lighter and Video

      @Sarge
      My Zippo or other lighters just kept getting blown out. I had to either stop the bike to light the ciggi or use matchsticks that give a really bad taste in the first 2 drags. So that's the motivation for the Cigarette lighter.

      @rathi -
      The mechanic's name is Younus Shaikh aka BUILDER ( you must have guessed it by now) and he's in Aurangabad. I did not buy the pistons from Pune but you can try Mukund Enterprises in Nanapeth. Mind you that old bugger thinks Yezdi parts are gold nuggets and charges crazy prices. The other bet would be to try Hari Automobiles.

      I've finally installed the ciggi lighter and posting a pic here. The meter bracket would need to go in for paint again, as you can see in the pic.Here's the only clear pic that I took. Damn that fly!

      My petrol-cock started leaking today and the bike was running very rich.I will be installing a new one and put the carb cover on. I've also uploaded a 5 min video on Youtube of Hades. Do check it out and let me know what you guys think.

      Removed the video as it got shaky.

      Cheers,

          Good work really the bike looks topnotch... Except the square head light from the standard round one, any reason behind for opting the square head light ??

          Have to congratulate your mechanic for scrambling in Yezdi... Its been years since I saw a Yezdi scrambling

            Thanks for the reply Dinesh. Glad you liked the restoration. The square headlight is more of a personal preference and nothing more. All the Yezdis I've owned have had a rectangular one, and that's the reason Hades gets it too.

            I've always been really cautious about changing gears on the Yezdi ever since I'd broken a tooth of my second gear on an earlier one. My mechanic used to race Yezdi's in dirt races and I have seen him make the Yezdi dance and fly.

            So I wanted to get pointers for driving the Yezdi and sort of fine tune my gearing. So, we headed outside Aurangabad to try it out. In the end, my mechanic ended up doing the scrambling stuff :P

            Cheers,

                  A unique identity for your Yezdi's good good ....

                  Nowadays its very hard to find a perfect Yezdi's on road even we find owners are cruising not making any tricks because of the spares scarcity so I enjoyed watching your mechanic's riding style.... Its great to watch and hear the 2strokes sound when it is in the perfect hands ...

                  I don't know why even I am a die hard Yamaha 2strokes fan there is some attachment with Yezdi's that comes from heart...

                    The guy shifts the Yezdi gears perfectly as you can see in the video. Earlier, every gear change was a conscious effort on the Yezdi..hopefully now it has gotten a lot better.

                    You are absolutely right on this one. Back in college days...I preferred my CBZ (1st bike way back in 2001) over my elder brother's RX-135 anytime. And then my parents gifted me an RD (after being nagged and bugged for months) and believe me...the RD just ruined all other four-jokes and even two-strokes for me.

                    A couple of years later..I was introduced to the Yezdi by my mechanic ( which I thought was a milkman bike..sorry no offense people) and I instantly fell in love with it. I believe, it is the only bike that can stand next to an RD and still hold its own.

                    To me, the sound and feel of an Yezdi epitomizes a certain calm, ease and poise that no other bike has. Period.

                    Cheers,

                      I was grown up with 2Strokes RD's Yezdi's and RX100's... and my first journey on two wheels started with my uncle's Yezdi Roadking guess because of that reason only I am addicted to Yezdi....

                      My destination is RD 350 and Yezdi's more than me my mom loves Yezdi's so she insisted me to get a Roadking someday waiting for that day to come......

                        I was thinking of putting a seat grab rail on the bike. I really don't like the Yezdi one as its too big and will spoil the look of the bike.

                        Have thought about modifying the really thin black one on the RE Bullet. Any suggestions people?

                          You have to wait for the pics after paint job. I am busy with lot of personal and office work hence not getting time for second phase.
                          I will try to upload pics without paint as well in a day or two. She is running like pocket rocket .

                              Man I've never had one. But now its been mandated by my wife!

                              Wife's orders cannot be ignored...hence the grab rail.
