Man don't fit KB125 CDI. You will regret it. RD is not just about looks..but great performance and you will surely miss out on it.

Just stick to points for now.in the mean time talk to senior members about sourcing a performance CDI. Someone will surely help
    Cheers,

Planning to get a Rd with partly engine. Is it worth buying it for 50K ? I'll be getting rest of the stuff from USA on my next trip. Please advise.

It depends on what all parts are missing as not all parts are easy to find even in the US. and getting big sized parts can prove too expensive and difficult. Some pics would be better.

          Yamdoot Sir,
I want to accompany someone who knows RD inside out to just make sure what all parts I will be actually needing and if they are available then only will take the risk of getting into this project. Can you help me out ?

Please listen to the man and stick to points for the time being and get a proper CDI kit. Forget performance cdis, even the auto escorts tci kit would be a wise alternative.

Today I went to Jatin Bhapkar again, n he already fitted the CDI ( the same one KB125 ) he said if i want on point then i can do that ne time.

Compared to the Yamaha RD350B that made 39 crankshaft bhp, the Indian-made HIGH TORQUE made 30.5 bhp (22.7 kW) and the later LOW TORQUE made only 27 bhp (20 kW), all in quest of better fuel economy.

If i m using CDI then can anyone tell me what will be the bhp/ power i will be getting ?? if the loss is about 3 to 6 bhp then i dont mind to give a try. But i would really want to know what will be the power loss if i use CDI unit.

Lets give a try on it . I tested some of his bikes which were on CDI n felt that i should give him a chance to prove.

I totally aggree that on point the power is more n the pick up is more too. But in pune for RD's the road are not that good to ride our bikes.
I forgot to mention that i also took a ride of one silencer RD but i didnt like it tho the firing sound was good but still i will keep it original.

Viper i send u a sms today on yr number i guess u didnt recived it

If you are happy with around 18 -20 bhp[maybe even less] , youre in safe hands. Yes, you are 100% sure to have have a 'power loss' if you use that CDI !!

The second point is self explainatory. Please read about how various ignitions and points function and which is a better tech. Its all there on Google.

Im not even telling you to read about Digital ignitions but just read about a static CDI atleast.

                      Hi Guys !!

Day before yesterday the enging started with just one kick tho it was after 5 years
Came to know the the piston ring needs to be changed. So we have decided to open the engine too n do the neccessary parts changing.
The repaining work is already starteded n its going to be magic black ( just with the Yamaha n the logo ) no original stickering. The original stickering give the tank a good look but at the same time the fule tank looks smaller than the original ones.
About the indicatiors i m still confused to wether to keep the original one or to have the one which i use for RX100 . The advantage i see it that its flexible n good look at the same time.

Can anyone help me to find good set of silencers for RD 350 ( Custom Made ) i will love to have a good set with me.
I like the original one too but this is just for time being ( just want to enjoy the sound n pick up)

Cool bike Sir! Cool bike indeed. But please god get rid of that seat on priority and get the original seat plate. That seat looks so ugly that I have no word to describe it. The bike otherwise looks complete and in fairly good condition. As to if it is a HT or LT............well that's difficult to tell with just these pictures. but congrats anyway.
