Re: Suzuki Shadow is it a Reality or just a Myth?

Why it isn't showing an option to upload any pic from android? I want to upload some pics so that everyone can easily distinguish between the fuel injected shogun (a view of injection system is also there), the 110 cc Supra, the 16 bhp limited edition Supra SS 110 and the Shadow. The Shogun FI was showcased but never sold. The 110 supra and SS were sold in two to three digit numbers. A few say that the Shadow was sold in single digit number in India in the name of Shogun (140 5 speed 16 bhp) and it was exported in the name of Shadow itself. I still don't know whether rumour or fact.

Bajaj was about to bring direct injection two Strokes in 2006, but abandoned the attempt. Direct injection helps reduce ubhc by preventing short circuit losses when both transfer and exhaust remain open when at BDC. There won't be much difference between the emissions of a throttle body injected two stroke and a carburetted one. It is because throttle body injection won't prevent short circuit loss. Bimota faced serious issues in direct injection while Athena succeeded in its attempt. Honda has a patent for a new lubrication system meant for DI 2 strokes.

There was another myth of KTM launching 2 strokes with Fuel Injector system and fulfilling emission norms. But no confirmation yet or just floated on papers dont know.

Please try to upload the picture through some other way.I and many of us are eager to see what it looks like. The Supra SS was the predecessor of the Shogun which came with a factory fit Expansion Chamber.Close to only 100 of them was sold till this day.Shadow never launched so the few bikes that they had, they supposedly sold it for the top spec people in the TVS who still ride it around very rarely but the bike was never exported. Some say that they still have one stashed somewhere in the Hosur plant.

They still use old parts like the tank for their racing stuff even today.

Bajaj had launched the 2stroke direct injection engines in auto-rickshaws, under the gdi monicker and was sold to the general public in late 2000s, and ktm does have fuel injected 2stroke models in their Motocross lineup,

Yep.KTM is still developing on the next generation 2 strokes with more complex port design,ECUs,Fuel Injection systems to meet the upcoming Euro 5 norms.

I think beyond a point,They really need to find a way to stop some of that unburnt AF mixture escaping from the engine as the ports are open by the piston for a short while. The only way I can think of,is a high pressure Injector on the Engine’s head next to the spark plug which can fire in the very nanosecond when piston is coming up,closes all the ports.Quite an expensive, complex and tedious affair I think.

The dream 2T would be having this high pressure fuel injection setup on the head along with Twin Spark Plugs + Sealed crankcase immersed in oil like 4T + A Small Supercharger to get the Primary Compression done.Fixes almost all of 2Ts flaws like weak lubrication,AF Escaping problem.etc

But this would just add more weight, make the whole thing a lot more complex - Defeating the whole purpose of 2Ts

I trust these 110 Supras are real Supras, either 14 bhp or the 16 bhp SS
most of the 110 cc Supras in FB are modified with shogun engines
