quite an easy task.A lil bit alteration was needed to my friends bike on doing the same.

        Why i ride?
Bcoz my neurons got bikes to travel across my body so i got my bike to travel across country.

Decided to keep CB ignition!!! It's more flexible than CDI!!! You can adjust the points for good power etc. But CDI gives better mileage!! But who cares, it's yezdi.

You do what you consider is best for you. No hard feelings, but please do not make statements like points are better than cdi and stuff without understanding how ignitions work and with handed down knowledge. Some one in search of info might read it and get the wrong idea. With all due respect to your mechanic, I am sure he is very competent, but either he has a wrong notion or you have understood him wrong.

I know cdi is better. No troubles. Easy maintenance, better mileage. Sometimes practicality is important. My mechanic knows very well. Everyone knows that!!! I trust him.

It is not about opinions. Facts are facts. Regarding originality.. You should consider what is good for your bike rather than what it came with. If i recall correctly, yezdi, itself switched to electronic ignitions towards the end.

Brother, every ignition can be advanced or retarded. That is not exclusive to points.. Advancing or retarding a cdi system is done through changing the position of the pulsar coil... I will say this. Google is your friend. Go through some documents and pages regarding ignition systems and you will understand. Regarding mechanics.. I wont go there because it is a long debate..
