  • Smoking chimney! !!

I just rebuilt my engine of my bullet 350 and had a new new block piston and a heavy crank valves and guides....running in of engine in progress. Clocked 340kms on the speedo. Now I notice smoke billowing from the exhaust once engine is heated. And the bike has no torque as a bullet should have. On the slope it struggles even in first gear.
    Please help me out guys:screwy:

probably oil is seeping through the bore and getting burnt causing the white smoke also causing compression leak hence lack of power , get your cylinder compression checked, if it is not possible ride your bike for a short distance ,stop and check your spark plug for engine oil, also check your engine oil level for any drop

Thank you kb100. There is less compression. May be the oil ring has been broken. And yes the powerful thump is missing. Its a new block piston from the RE spares authorised dealer. Yet to show it to the mechanic. But whose fault is it? ? Has the block got warranty? ?

in all probability the responsibility lies with the mech , there is compression leak only after removing the cylinder will be able to identify the root cause

after assembling the engine did your mech start it up and let it idle for a few hours

The problem was with the air screw . Got the carb tuned. Took it to on a steep slope and climbed smoothly.

compression leak due to faulty air screw . Strange!
Was this explanation given by the mechanic or your inference?
Did you check the compression again?

Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well
and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

Thats what the mechanic told me. Got the air filter replaced and the carb tuned. He said there wasn't enough air supply hence it refused to climb on opening the throttle.
