  • My RX100 Restoration details...

    Friends and Techis,

I've restored my RX100 1996 model back 5yrs ago when he came to me as only a rust and he has almosted touched 15K kms now. Here are the details of modifications and works done to bring him back.

    1. Complete chasis painting.
    2. Front fork assembly set with disk brakes - Pulsar 150.
    3. Got a old bore and rebored it with new piston and rings since old bore was port opened and misused.
    4. New crank assembly.
    5. All new Yamaha OEM parts.
    6. New Clutch bell assembly.
    7. All Chrome items plated.
    8. New rims and tyres.
    9. Center locking system.
    10. Rear with new SNS suspension and position altered.
    11. New Muggaurds.
    12. Gladiator switch sets.
    13. Added a addtional gear to the gear box. (5 Speed - finally).
    14. New chain sprakets to support 5th gear ration and RPM transformation.
    15. New stickers and Logos.

I still remember the day... When I drove my bike first time before restoration.. he is only a piece of metal with engine. I didnt even know he will start.. i tried many times and left the hope and then my mechanic came and gave a start and then I drived it carefully since no brakes nothing.. . My mechanic followed me till his shop for my safe halt.

    Thanks.
    Regards,

Post some pictures pal. Preferably the ones taken 5 years ago when the bike was completely fresh after the rebuild. If possible, post the pre-rebuild pic of the bike.

VKumarrx100, So how is the bike now? Are you going to start another restoration or trouble shoot any issues? Also, the stripe stickered on the side shield is wrong, actually they interchanged. Was the chamber bought as plug and play? Any details?

Which exhaust you are using, any difference in running, that cover on the tank does not looks good.

I think the performance does not give as expected because the shocks position is get closer with its pivot position (starting of the swing arm) so that seems the suspension bit hard.
