Rx-100s engine can be restored in 5000rs, if you are reboring it, but if you have the budget then opt for new cylinder block and crank assembly, as one can't be sure of reboring jobs done by todays lathe guys, on the exterior it depends how bad is the chassis and other cycle parts, if the petrol tank is not rusted from inside then get it repainted instead of going for the new ones, your bike's speedometer must have written escorts on it so don't change the meter just get it repaired, while refilling front forks check the inner tubes for straightness, change wiring harness, oil leakage is not a problem when you will rebuild the engine changing of all oil seals will stop the leak, get the silencer cleaned thoroughly first by scraping all the thick carbon deposits and then wash the silencer extensively with kerosene, change every small rubber part and if the bike electricals are of 6volt, then this is the right time to convert it to 12volts.

Happy to see another RX restoration, all the very best.

1) No other go, get a new sprocket + chain kit
2) If the tubes are in perfect condition, get the oil filled and oil seals changed (Less than 300 INR) Else you should go for brand new inner tubes too
3 & 7) Should be addressed during engine reconditioning
4) Have you checked if the worm gears were working? Most cases will be worm gear failure.
5) If your bike is still with 6V electricals, convert it to 12V (best choice)
6) Check for the condition of petrol tank. Go for painting only if it is rust free, else get brand new one


What does it include in that 15k & 5k quote?

15k includes everything except tyre and electricals.
5k only for engine overhauling

worm gears will be done during engine overhauling?

may be my dad already has changed the meter once it has written yamaha on it.
will the wiring guy will be able to change the output to 12v.?
will talk to him.
will talk to my mechanic to change the whole cylinder part.

yesterday went to start some work on it.
got the following things done on it:

1. servicing
2. Oil change
3. chain set change
4. spark plug change
5. fuel tank clean.(no rust on it)
6. tank rubber mounts change
7. carb. cleaning
8. brake shoes change
9. front fork oil seal and oil change(1 fork tube needs replacement)
10. accelerator and clutch cable change.
11. ignition set change
12. bearing change
13. fuel tank 2t and pipe change
14. all indicators
15. battery change
and some more little things done. All these things took 1 full day.

total expense were 3300 +/- 50

work need to be done is now.

1. Engine overhauling
2. New Wiring
3. Denting and painting.
4. replacement of stuff like seat,meter etc.

will do the restoration in same way. will go to the mechanic on this sunday for engine overhauling.


saw a RXZ on evening of tuesday in dwarka and it was looking awesome.it was very well maintained

Are you from delhi, as your bike RP suggests, at which mechanic in delhi you are getting your bike restored, just PM me and may be we can talk on phone as,i would also like to join you in your restoration process as i love seeing rx100s getting restored.
Yeah your mechanic can convert the bike to 12volts, nothing special in it.

ur bike engine is OE packed i thing G-2 block fit on bike i m right mr.speedyking ??

It has written G2 on it.Yes G2 block is fitted on it.

Finally after waiting for sometime and given it a thought i have decided to modify it and give it cafe racer look.
me and my jiju opened the entire bike...
uploading pics of it
went to karol bagh to get some stuff. going to mumbai on ganpati so will be able to restart work on it

opened the engine and saw 0.5 piston i guess its 2nd size engine.
will go for sleeving so that will get install stock piston in it.

Although it's your choice converting the bike to cafe racer, but from my side i won't advice it doing this way.

do not sleeve , you will end up ruining the cylinder, just go for the next over size

Why do you want to spoil the Stock looks? Try to maintain in stock itself. Do not go for sleeve job. Very rare people do a good sleeve job and that too depends on your luck. Its only 2nd oversize. You can go for 2 more. Get 0.75 Mahle(Goetze) or ART(If available) piston and maintain the stock block. If you have more Vitamin M, Then get a new block. You said you did oil change. Dude, if you are going for engine overhaul later, then this change will be a waste.

In the 4th Pic, it seems like your Real wheel is out. Try to align that too. Try to acquire all parts OE.
