  • Re-furbish Royal Enfield Bullet Standard 1979 model

    Hi guys,

I have a Royal Enfield Bullet standard 1979 model. As it sounds, its almost a vintage but runs like a charm. The only thing that has ever been replaced is the carburetor. Now I need to re-furbish it to a modern RE classic 350 or RE Bullet Standard but I am confused which one to go for.

Currently the bike is silver colored but I am open for other color options too.

The information that I need is the parts that I need to acquire for this upgrade. Also, I need to put the modern switches on the bike and also put the disc brakes. Please suggest if this can be done.
    My budget is around 40-50K.

    Thanks!!!!!

Congrats on the Classic bike. Subscribed to this thread.
Do post some snaps of your bike.
40~50k budget will be too tight for the restoration of a RE bike.
      To give a rough estimation,
Disc brake set up : 10k+
      Painting : 7~10k
      Plating : 3~5k
      Latest electricals + wiring : 5k+
      Other mechanical parts : ???
      Labor : ???

Are you changing the gearbox as well?

Thanks for your reply... I am keeping the same gearbox but planning to change the clutch plate assembly and gear changer. I am still looking for a good mechanic in Bangalore specifically for the gear-box tuning as the engine is absolutely fine... Also for Chrome plating, I still need to find a good place.

        Will post pics very soon...
