  • Restoring a scrap YAMAHA RXZ

    Hi friends ,
i bought this bike for 6,800. When i saw it first..i said to it's ex owner "Bhai isko kitni baar thoka hai???" and he smiled and said "My younger brother was learning to ride a bike with it" then i said no need a explain anymore , i can understand it.. Ha ha ha
So it was a painful story of this bike
It was in completely scrap condition , engine was in working order but not perfectly. Lots of stuff was missing from bike.

Have a look at it you'll definitely laugh at me

And it's me trying to restore it - I'm not a mechanic , just wanted to re-build it my way.

Bought a lot of new stuff , but it was not easy for me.
Restoration is currently under progress , i work on it only on weekends. Posting few pics of it's present condition..

Bike'll be ready under 3 to 4 days. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Amazing... truly inspirational as you are treating it as a DIY job! I surely gotta show my friend this as he also has a RXZ which is unfortunately rusting in peace...

My kind of restoration, love this. Glued to the thread.

PS: let me know if there are anymore RXZ's waiting to be plucked at this price , jokes apart I have been waiting for a good amount of my life to get an RXZ, with 3 bikes already in my stable, I can only get a 4th bike is home minister approves and her approval is purely cost driven

                  Simply superb...
I just love this bike and its time less design.
Just one thing. Try to put some other indicators in place of default ones because they don't gel well with the overall sleek look of this beautiful machine. You can try splendour's indicators if you like as they are small and easy to find...

@P3T3R - No !!!! searching parts was very difficult for me.
Main problem was i didn't know the names of those small parts. he he he .Visited each and every shop in the city with removed old scrap parts to show them that i need this.
Finally collected them all and final output'll be here tomorrow.

I had this problem when I restored my RX100 years ago. At that time the RX135 & RXZ were still in production, yet it was difficult.

Try and get hold of a parts catalogue. That will solve this problem. My mechanic had them so he just gave me the part numbers and names for my RX100 as well as the RD350.

                            Eagerly awaiting the photos.
