Never thought that I would own a two stroke bike, that too the"Legendary RD 350"
I was never in to bikes untill I have seen the beauty built from scrap to one of the best RD in India by Naveen Reddy. It took me two weeks to find one with the help of Naveen after i have decided to restore a RD,2 weeks is a very less time to own this Legend. But not happy with the way it was maintained with oil leaks and many parts being replaced with the original once. That is when I have decided to start the bike only after I rebuild it. Thanks to Naveen Reddy for guiding and helping me in re-storing the Legend.

That's a lovely colour of the bike, i don't think i have seen one in that colour.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

this bike is in fairly good shape in terms of cosmotics and the engine , well as he is all right to spend time , money and learn about the bike , we have planned to do a strip down rebuild
        Shoot with a Nikon..Drive a Chevy..Ride a Yamaha

Nice find. Bike is in extremly good condition. Cant say about the engine though. If its on indian points, try to source a better ignition.

The bike is running on CDI-which I believe is from suziki samurai

planning to upgrade to CDI - yet to decide

Excellent, Great to see another build, RDs are very infamous for turning into money pits. Here are my 2 cents
                1. The bike didn't get its name and reputation for cosmetics during those days, it was performance which stacked this bike really high. Ensure you get the bike running well first.
                2. Not many people are well versed with setting or rebuilding an RD so choose your restorer/Mechanic very wisely.

The market is flooded with Delhi spares, don't go for expensive spares without the real need for it. if I were you and budget was not a constraint then I would take it to Ron, ask him to do a complete rebuild of the engine and take the rest of the cosmetics done elsewhere. Trust me after Rons Magic even the worst rusted pipes sound better and the bike runs better. I am not trying to market him but you need to understand, anyone who has dedicated his entire life to one bikes performance upgrade needs to be respected.

I can understand the point of not riding the bike before fixing it completely, that's exactly what I did to my RX 135 5 speed, I wanted the bike to be mint before I took her for the first spin, I wanted to experience it properly.

PS: an RD is not a everyday bike, its over zealous passion sometimes that makes these machines an impulsive buy, most owners realize they bought a white elephant well before the bikes restoration is completed and the bike is sold right after it starts running, I sincerely hope you are not one of them.

                  Re: RD 350 - Overhaul -aby 4799

clean that tank nicely and give a anti rust liner POR-15 or Kreem

That Suzuki CDI set up will do the job if you can hook a RDD analogue CDI

There days, the only way you can make use of the money spend on RD is by using it !

Thank you much for all the suggestions Pramod. But I would like be there when the engine is built to get better understanding on how it works which I cannot do if Ron is working on it . i believe you might have seen Naveen Reddy's rd and it is just impressive , naveen is guiding me with the build and help me with sourcing parts from us and the same mechanic who built his machine.

Sure Satish, will do that . Ideally was planning for Indian points but keeping the consistency in mind planning to go for the CDI. Will think about it

i have found him a decent us spec tank as most of the tanks in india are already welded and painted multiple times. he is planing to do a decent rd and not specfic on a full us spec due to the rocket prices and hard to find parts.. us spec seat is going to cost at least 20k with shipping if in decent shape. sellers on ebay now are asking 200$ for seat and 100$ for shipping as the box will be on large size, our customs duty will be high as well .
