  • TVS 50 XL "The legendary Better than walking moped."

Hi to all members I am newbie and today to my surprises I have bought a tvs50xl with the help of my friend and local portal.
In my childhood we had same moped and I learn to ride two wheelers from that, afrer some years my father sold that and i missed that sound pf that moped hence there are some sentimental value for that.

I have noticed there is no proper thread for that legendary moped.
    so I started it now.
I will frequently update the DIY to mild workshop restoration of the moped.
I am inviting all the xbhpians to contribute and share your thoughts about tvs50.

(Please note: it's about the tvs 50xl ie.,50cc bike not the one in the market)

Aah, THE 'tvs 50' that was a common sight (and still is in some towns) in the 90's and early 2000's especially in Tamil nadu. I rode that extensively as a kid in Chennai during the 90's.. the pedal start, the buzz in the handle bar . Namma ooru vandi !

TVS 50 XL "The legendary Better than walking moped."

Hi I am going to post about the tvs 50 moped which is "simple" machine.
pour some petrol and oil it will start and go if tank drains pedal that and come to your destination.
I want fellow bhpians approval and I need to know whether they like this type of vehicles.

change the head gasket and get a carb overhaul kit and rebuild the carbs , that should see it through

PS: there is another thread somewhere in this section where somebody converted one to a racer search and check it out

You mean the silencer bend pipe? Rust removing is not possible, it must be corroded heavily. Brand new pipe is the only solution.
