Yes, these are RD 350 cylinders(suitable on Indian RDs) not R5.The R5 cylinders do not have the reed valve option and the boost port. On the base of the cylinders on the outer side it should be mentioned "347 cc" and not "399cc" as the RD 400 has similar looking cylinders but is a little taller.

Thanks a lot Bud. My doubts are cleared!. Now i will make arrangements to have the restoration process started. I am not in india right now and will be there on the 29th.

YEs they Have "347 cc" marking on the side of them and another thing i noticed was that near the reed valve intake upside down thre eis a marking 4 stamped on it does that specify anything

          Thanks Again rajkumar.

Its a long process! Had a guy in US bid and win On ebay for me. He than carried it to the africa for me and i shall carry them to India.
The best option for you will be seeon Ebay and if the person says he will deliver international go with him and as far as payments are concerned you could easily pay by credit card.

The other option for you will be ask your cousin to buy these for you and than DHL them to india. I had a quote from the guy and since these weight around 15 pounds including packing it should cost you around $150-200 to get to india . This excludes the cost of Cylinders.

Hope this helps you in getting your RD barrels

RD250 barrels are ideal for Indian conditions..Similiar stroke, mini more [54mm im presuming]
Shove in a good pair of RX135 pistons [ART] and manage the deck height [im assuming its the same] and you have a good useable commuter cum power package

ps: i could be totally wrong here :P

What about the customs problems...?? I imported a pair of R5 cylinders and my package was seized by the customs...I was told that it is illegal to import such parts...is that true..??

Not sure how can any one say its illegal. its only illegal if you get some thing in bulk for trade purpose. Say its for personel use.
Please check again and get your cylinders back

Yes prashan i know these customs guys are a pain in the B**T. The rule is you could import small spares for your automobile for personel use and yes you are supposed to pay around 40% duty for brand new parts. Use ones a little less.

Thats is the reason i asked my friend to carry it for me to Africa and will carry them in my baggage to India.

if you are in H'bad see an agent who imports spare parts and ask him to do all ( He will charge you a good amount) and you will have your parts at a cost.

Any one on this forum could shed some light on this. I now all can find the parts you are looking for on ebay and even pay up using the credit cards, but getting them shipped is a problem. Any one know of a good agent pls provide phone number or address.
