  • Expansion chamber for RX 100

Hello guys, I own a beautiful '94 RX 100 in stock condition. Stock carb, no porting. It goes up to 95 odd with a pillion. Might go more but didn't try.

Goes up to 40 in 2nd gear and around 60-70 in third if pulled hard. I'm thinking of getting a chamber for more performance. We don't have any performance tuners here so no porting I guess. So, I'm thinking of getting one from Basheer RX killer from Kerala.

    Need your guidance brothers.

That's why I'm asking those who are familiar with his work to share some knowledge.

Got few doubts bro. Glad if you would clarify:
              1. Are chambers for rx 135 & 100 interchangable? I think his ones are same.
              2. Upjetting compulsory If I install a chamber? If so would rx 135's stock jets suffice?
              3. These days my bike's engine is running quite hot. Asked Mechanic & he said the heat level is ok. Sufficient 2t is being supplied by the oil pump. Will attach Spark plug pic
              Also attaching chamber pic bro.
Thanks in advance Click image for larger version

nope chambers designed for a particular models works well with the ones its designed for,
dependsv , only way to check is to do a plug chop after the install
                the plug looks fine

No bro.... I have ordered the above one from him. Once it arrives I will tell you how it is. Due to corona issue chrome plating is getting delayed. Hope it turns out good.

Re: Expansion chamber for RX 100

Well, I'm not qualified to brief about the EC (expansion chamber) however, can share some titbits for your quest. Usually EC are designed according to the bike and the desired expectations. I'm sure many would have shared their glorified stories after installing EC however, I'm afraid if you were told about the other side.

Not going to go deep into this. First, if I were would start thinking like what is the bike's capability? what how can I extract more power within safe limits? Is the change reversible? Is the change reliable? Can I revert to stock? advantages and disadvantages of EC.. why not opt to RX135 stock set up so that it is reliable?

Any deviation from stock would require a thorough knowledge of advantages and adverse effects that would impact the bike.

I hope you read many forums/articles/discussion on internet and get the hang of "Performance mods on RX".

Thanks for sharing bro! I don't commute much on my rx 100 but when I do, I just want that extra bit of power. Even if the EC doesn't do wonders it might still give a small upgrade and make the heads turn even more, right[emoji16]? Also my Mechanic says the engine is nearing a rebuild as the connecting noise has increased. I'm also thinking of converting into 135 instead of doing a rebuild. Need your opinion on this. Also I think my silencer is a 135 one. Do u think a 135 silencer on 100 reduces the acceleration? My bike may touch 100 when I tuck in but the acceleration is not that quick. Hope this changes with the chamber.

RX sound itself is a head turner today. Not sure what more you expecting. Probably a wheelie?

I'm tired of advising people from making mistakes but all I can say is read the forums, restoration threads etc to know how to approach restorations.

Most precious thing of restoration is not the new spares but the ones in the bike. Not many try to salvage them to be used again while restoring hence spend alot to get look like new.

Anyways it's upto them how they want it.

If you trying to convert your RX100 to RX135.

                            1. Remove Cylinder, head carburator, CDI, Ignition coil (butti coil), RX100 coil plate/magnet and RR unit and keep it in the locker.
                            2. You will need RX135 crank assy (preferrably new)
                            3. 135 head
                            4. 135 Cylinder
                            5. CDI
                            6. Carburator
                            7. Can use RX100 ignition coil or use new one (available for 135).
                            8. RX135 magnet
                            9. RX135 wiring harness

There are many more restoration threads on this forum on RX135/RX100, please go through to understand the discussions.
