Guys, price really shudnt be the limiting factor while restoring a bike like the Shogun. The feeling of reading out from an analog device has no parallels. Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

I totally agree with you and that is why I am using a max 100 speedo .Gonna procure a shogun set from "gujli" for about 800 bucks.way lesser than the new one .

A mate of mine from work just told me that his mechanic called him and has this shogun for sale for about 10k. I dont what year it is as yet. I am gonna be checking the babe out tomorrow and I guess I am gonna pick it up. Can you guys gimme some pointers about what to look for in terms of major faults. Cosmetic faults I am prepared to ignore but if there is a clearance in the connecting rod and all it will be problem I guess. Please advise on what to look for please.

Isn't this Zen an authorised TVS workshop/dealer? If yes, I don't think they can charge a higher price. Suggest you check it out and bring it to TVS's notice.

Do you think TVS are going to be bothered if a dealer overcharges a customer for a part.when the production of the part was stopped almost a decade ago.Not worth the time and effort. And Zen has good contacts with biggies at tvs so i do not think it would concern them or tvs

^^^ They should be bothered. There are terms and conditions for any authorised dealership. Weather the bike has been in or out of production, it still sells as a TVS part, right???

Raccoon can you call me up sometime? Need to talk to you. I lost my mobile and hence your number!

Aditya hit me up for a 100 main jet and a Shogun speedo console (used but amazingly new) - I was super busy so was out of the forum for a month almost.

^^^ Other than the RVM, the bike looks very good.

I hear hum or knocking noise from the engine while acceration, the local mech say the noise is from the clutch bell gear and primary drive, but I have replaced clutch bell gear and primary gear with new ones. The locking nut was tighten by using torque wrench.
