    Hi Karthik,

Thank you very much for the help bro.i apreciate your quick response. I am new to 2 strokes (you can say new to 2wheelers!!) But love to have one RX as its my childhood dream and sick of driving my Alto in bangalore city. Might bother you for more information when i actually start rebuilding. I will keep reading topics on XBHP, team BHP and RD dreams to garner knowledge on restoration.

    Thanks once again

      1. Which silencer will give better FE ;Cat con or Crome(Forgive me if am discussing wrong topic)
      2. I want bike to be in stock condition so what tyres i should use on it(Suggest me rim size as well)
      3. What engine parts i should check before buying 99 RX135 4S(I dont want to end up in buying ported or any mod egine, i want it be in stock condition.

Please help me out with your guidelines.
      fyi I stay in Bangalore.
Thanks Gouthama, glad you like my bike. Sorry for the late response as i was out of town. I think Karthik cleared all your queries but you can surely ask for any help required in future. My best of wishes with your restoration Keep updating

The headlight assembly is an old pulsar lumax headlight and the disc brake + forks are also from the old pulsar. Its a direct fit!

Thanks for the edu. Hows the quality of Pullsar brake pads and calipers? Do they last long? Is the headlight assembly a direct fit too?

Quality of pulsar braking is good but after putting an external ABS they work even better. I have crossed more than 8,000 kms with the same pads and still going strong The headlight assembly is a direct fit (Try and get the LUMAX original assembly and not DKMAX thats available commonly in the market)

The RX100 pipe construction is slightly different than that of later series IMO.

Let me clear the confusion. The whole pipe we call them muffler assembly. The rear end part where you find a small pipe inserted is called the silencer/core/bansuri which is like a flute with holes all over.

It is not only the silencer that makes the difference, it may be the muffler which came along with legendary RX100 is slightly different in its construction than that of later series. That make the beat slightly crisper.

When I wanted to buy the RX100 silencer sometime back from a reputed Yamaha dealer who has at least 25 years experience dealing with 2 stroke spares clarified the we do not get typical RX100 silencer these days.
