There is. the small end dia is bigger. I still havent found out how the deck is going to turn out, although it can be managed using a barrel spacer + other mods

thanks man. RXZ engine still pending. all cycle parts sorted. need to get a fresh pair of engine centre casings and etch the number on them. the ones that came on the bike had a major hairline crack. hence waiting on that front

        cheers

The shaolin belongs to a guy who isn't much active on forums. His name is daksh.

No difference in stroke. Bore increased by 2mm

            cheers

credible step Atul! lets hope it goes well for you. you mentioned the rod is slightly longer n the need for a barrel spacer. then how come the stroke remains the same i wonder.
With parts availability on your side, one could attempt/ experiment as u want.. been with the Shogun for a good 16 years and the RD for 11 years, i have known the value of rare and 'soon to be' rare spares and i wouldnt even think about touching a suzuki engine.. it needs a Big heart to even try doing such a thing on a rare bike. Kudos!

thanks for the heads up man. am trying to preserve functionality as much as possible. The longer road just indicates higher deck height. the main stroke of the crank will not be affected as long as i change the position of the bigend pin.

Availability of spares is also a major concern why someone should take up such a rebuild. With only one std piston available for the shaolin, and no factory/good quality rods in the market, engine grafting is going to be the only way out for these bikes. The owner will have about 5 rebores after this setup, and can use a backup crank for further use. other than that the rest of the spares remain the same, with more displacement, 4 std oversizes

Its the right alternative for people instead of using RX135 pistons too

                  Regards

Oh yea. The engine has been completely rebuilt. It runs an RZ reed valve setup. A few clutch mods and a slightly ported crankcase to maintain the CCV with a bigger piston has been done. Transmission stock 5 speed. Im trying to get the cycle parts sorted for now.

The carburetor hasn't been decided upon yet. I will mostly need to make a custom manifold for this setup. To accomodate upto a 30mm carburetor maintaining the same angle to keep straight through carbs and not downdraught

                            Thats all for now

                            Cheers
