A short trip to Cuddalore and back!!

    Hi Ravi, I went to this temple :: Thiruvaheendrapuram, Sri Deyva Nayaga Perumal Temple, Tiruvayindhai, Sri Hayagreevar, Temples, Sri Desikar, Divya desam, Divyadesams, Hindu Indian, 108 Vishnu Temples, Shrines, Sthalams , Dinamalar - koil English

    Regarding the Natraja temple, AFAIK the Natraja temple is at a place called Chidambaram. Its at Cuddalore district alright, but around 40 KMs from the town of Cuddalore. For details refer here :: Chidambaram Temple - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I have been here on lot many earlier occassions, but not this time. Its a great place. The dome of the Sanctum sanctorum is made of golden tiles. You have to visit this place to really understand and enjoy the architecture!

      Thanks for the information. TamilNadu is famous for its temples. Even the smallest temple I have visited in Tamilnadu is very very huge than any of our famous temples in AP.

      I heard about the NatarajaSwami Temple. You are right that it is in Chidambaram; i got confused. It is very interesting what have said about this temple. I am gonna make a stop next time I go to my inlaws place.

      I have visited Tiruvarur, Viadiswaran Koil, Tanjavur temple, and another temple which is famous for Shastipurthi; forgot the name of it, near Tharangambadi.

      All these temples are very huge. I am yet to visit Madhura Meenakshi.

        @Ravi :: Wow, looks like you have been to most famous Shaivite temples....Madurai Meenakshi temple is really a huge temple. Please do visit a few Vaishnavite temples too...They have some really great history. Try places like Nagapattinam, Tirucherai, Naachiyaar Koil at Tirunaraiyur etc. A few of the temples that I visited, I loved.....

          I do not aware that all I visited are shaivite temples. Next time, will sure visit a few of Vaishnavite temples to make a balance. Thanks for the details.
