Although it is not a long ride, but cant control mysely sharing it with you people...

It was saturday night, i was just chilling out with my friends & discussing about their leh ride which didnt happened because of recent disaster few weeks back at leh. Even i told them about my small ride at lavassa & showed them some pics of that ride on my cellphone. One of them ( nilesh shinde ) was really impressed by seeing it & says next time count me in. This is how it started. I asked him 'Tomorrow is sunday, lets do it then'. What say? immediately got his positive response. Meeting time decided @ 5am & we left the place with few more drinks around 1.00am. Reached home , set the alarm & went to sleep.....

Alarm ranged & there was fcuking hangover coz of last late night jam session, so messaged him that we will leave at 9 & sleept again. It was 10 when i woke up, saw many missed call on my cell, called him again & asked him whether to ride or not? He said, 'chaal na yaar, kya taang de raha hai'. OK.... Cancelled lavassa & Aamby valley decided. Meet him at 10.30, had some snacks & cig & left the place. We was about to reach panvel an idea stuck in my mind ' NH- 17'. Told him about it, no problem was his reply. Stopped near karnala for refuelling & there we go....soon it started raining like crazy till mahad almost had a non-stop ride & was thinking why didnt i brought my camera for this ride. Rain stopped for a while as we was near mahad & saw a beautiful waterfall. Clicked from my cell & damn... Really cursing myself with its result & i was missing my nikon to do real justice to that pics.

    Butter smooth roads

    our rides

So continued further & saw another beautiful river flowing parallel to highway again clicked it with bad result.

    can you see those caves

So decided not to click any more photos. Started the ride again & reached poladpur. There we saw two signboard 'kasheli ghat about to start' & left for 'mahableshwar'. How can anyone miss those corners of kasheli??? Done... had a little chat, then it was decided that first we will enjoy the ghat then ride back till poladpur & continue further towards mahableshwar.

Just we started to climb raingod started its blessing like anything. Though we enjoyed the corners hard & safely. Totally drenched we reached on top of it, had a desperately needed tea & cig break.

It was time to ride back.Reached poladpur & took right for mahableshwar. It was drizzling little bit.Suddenly road started vanishing & we was doing offroading. It was really tough to ride on it & we were getting pissed off. Although no ride is complete if it dont have some offroading in it. But this part of journey ( poladpur- mahableshwar ) was the best part of our ride. Whole views was mesmerizing, even though i dont have good camera then also cant control myself for a click. It took us almost two hour for this 40km of journey with lots of stops for a click. Saw few riders clicking group photos, one of them was on his thunderbird with saddle-bags on it.

Mahableshwar was just 5km, had few last clicks & started to ride again with heavy rain. When we entered mahableshwar we was stopped at one check post, officer their asked us to pay some tax kind of thing to enter mahableshwar. When we told them that we are heading towards satara & not stopping at mahableshwar, they let us go & warned us not to stop anywhere otherwise if caught then have to pay fine of 2k. Dont know what was this, anyway it was decided to have our next stop somewhere on NH-4 after crossing satara for some snacks. It was raining really like crazy, crossed satara & we was on NH-4. Stopped for refuelling & had some snacks on dhaba next to that petrol pump.

We both was riding in rain for a whole day and was shivering like anything. Went near tandoor bhatti of that dhaba to feel some warmth. Ah!!! it was a great relief. It started getting dark, so had a fast & another non-stop ride till pune. At khambatki ghat just after i crossed tunnel one local passionwala with pillion riding hard on those slopes of ghat, i think it was after seeing me fully geared as we people know why was that. After we reached pune it was already dark. Just when we crossed dehu road, our nightmare started. Heavy rain, pitch dark road, high beam lights of oncoming traffic & to add more - zma's headlight ( it sucks ), it was a deadly combo. The rain & cold forced us for another stop @ lonavala. Another chai & sutta break. Desperately needed few pegs not chai now. Anyway, had couple cups of tea & few fags. It was time to move on. Just we started to ride downhill, another thing added to our combo - heavy fog. It was really feeling creapy to ride in it, one local guy with pillion on his bike had a fall in front of me, just a few feet away there was deep valley. Nilesh was riding ahead of me so honked hard to stop him to help those two guys, but it was no use. He didnt heard it & went ahead. So somehow parked my bike & went there to help them. Thank god, nothing happened to both of them & their bike. Infact they both was too drunked to ride & was laughing @ their fall. So started the ride very slowly till i reach expressway, as soon as im on it the fog was gone & i was feeling little happy to ride. Nilesh was waiting for me @ exit of expressway. Reached khopoli & again the combo offer. But this time found one cage cruising @ descent speed & i decided to tail it from safe distance. It was good decision i think i took & reached panvel in no time. It was good fast ride from there. Didnt went home directly, had a little jam session to celebrate our todays safe & crazy rain ride & some relief from cold.

    CHEERS........

REALLY APPOLOGIZE FOR POOR QUALITY OF IMAGES, NEXT TIME NO WILL MAKE SURE TO HAVE A GOOD CAMERA WITH ME....
