P.S. Note - mumbai - nagpur route is not good for such kind of rides. I choosed this route coz im very much familiar to this route, thanks again to my office. Had done many road trips on this route, but in cage.

Keeda of doing this ride had bitten me after my last ride for lonar which was left uncomplete and i had to come back home from middle of the ride resulted me doing total of 950 km in 18 hours. Same day itself i calculated my return journey which was very good figures. Thats it, decided to do saddlesore.

Now the next thing - route?
1st thing came in mind is mumbai- banglore route. It is a lovely highway, i had been there only once on one of my official visit. That reminded me of some good long patches where road construction was in progress. After that i never got opportunity to go there. So this route was cancelled. Now what? Gujrat ( NH-8 )? Woh toh banglore route ka baap hai, considering bad road condition. Next was nagpur route ( NH-3 ). Well, though this route was much more familiar to me, but there was still a big question in my mind whether to go for it or not. Coz there are many patches on this route as well where road construction is in progress, at some places it is single lane highway & last but not least it is the busiest one i think compared to others. But Help came running, again thanks to my office. Another visit to raipur in a cage. What a relief. While that trip i pinned down every possible minor details of this route. Like - where i can rev my bike hard, where i have to slow down, petrol pump details etc etc. That trip really helped me for choosing this mumbai-nagpur-mumbai. So the route is also finalised.

Now another thing - when?
december or january? Paagal ho gaya hai kya? Raat mein faatte thandi aur din mein faatte garmi. Haalat kharab ho jayegi. so decided it should be in november. So things started finalising, preparing my bike & myself for this mamoth ride. Had few Discussions about this ride with senior members like ketanr15 ( iron butt man ) - helped me to clear few doubts which i have in my mind for this ride as he himself has completed this ride sucessfully, spiderweb- helped me to find a witness from returning point, his friend sarang kshirsagar who later backed out coz the date i was finalizing it was his exam period. Anyway no regrets. But, spiderweb himself was in nagpur ( his hometown ) for diwali vacation. It was decided that he will be witness for my turning point, another good & my first friend on xbhp lonelyrider08 - mandar vichare & joel came as witness at starting point. As i was discussing about this with my other non xbhpian friends, Nilesh shinde ( joined xBhp few days before this ride ) showed his interest of tagging me along. I replied him positively coz i had done a ride with him, remember my last mahableshwar ride? But one thing i made clear, ' i will not ruin my ride because of you, untill & unless there is any major issue'. For that he replied, ' think positive, i will not let you down'. Date was still undecided & spiderweb was already in nagpur. Had discussed with nilesh about it & date was finalized as 6th nov 2010 at 11pm. But, guess what on 7th was bhau-beej . Now what to do. Discussed about this ride with my sister & promissed her that i will be back before 12 at mid night to celebrate this day & she too agreed for it ( lol, dont you think this sounds little filmy ). But, after lot of thinking the date was changed & 5th nov 2010 was decided as D-Day.
After all there are few good ocassions coming in year, in that to if you are not with your family to celebrate, then whats the use of that occassion.

5th nov the d'day....

It was laxmi pujan on that day. So whole day went in diwali shopping. Came back home in evening & directly went to my office to attend puja. At 8pm i was free from office. So, called nilesh and ask him to meet me after 30 min. Went home, filled my tank bag with all necessary stuffs. Meet nilesh & we was on our way for petrol pump near majiwada, thane, the decided starting point where mandar & joel was already waiting for us. Meet them & soon we was filling our witness form, as we were about to complete the form filling process the petrol pump was closed. Thank god mandar knew another pump nearby which accept card as a proof for my starting time ). Soon we was on that pump, before entering pump had another sutta, called ketan & got wishes from him. Refueled my bike & swiped my card which shows - Date: 05/11/10 Time: 22:09:26. So after me it was nilesh's time to refuel, he did & guess what his card was denied, WTF. He tried a lot but it didnt work. So he decided to take hand written slip with time & date. Meanwhile, i took out my camera & gave to mandar to take few clicks. Another WTF, camera was not starting & later came to know that i forgot to insert battery in it which i had removed for charging. So took out my mobile to take few snaps at last we started our ride after almost 15min. Phew...
