  • Celebrating Last days of Bachelorhood - A half day ride

Marriage they say is end of Freedom. I hope not. . However it would bring in some responsibilities. So before that two guys, both recently engaged, decided to head out for a morning short ride to enjoy time with their steeds and camera.

Myself and Varun visited Damdama Lake on Sunday. It is not that just tow of us planned the ride but just that others were busy. Anyways, we met at Petrol Station at Dhaula Kuan and headed out on the NH 8 at about 05:45 AM. As I was waiting for Varun, I tried searching for Damadama Lake on my GPS but could not find it. So we used local GPS (people) to find the way to the lake. The lake is very close to Sohna and after a few trials, found the left turn towards the lake. It was a nice narrow country road with lots of speed bums and since I had my GPS mounted using suction cup holder on the bike, I was a little scared but it held on. Also, I was riding on open fields according to my GPS! Reached the Lake and took a turn into the jungle thinking we will come face to face with the lake where we can park the bikes and click some pics. However there was no such place but still took some pics

We then went to the 'Saras Tourist Gues house' a property maintained (or not) by Haryana Tourism. Parked the bikes and went to the shore from where they do the boating. We found that one guy had this prisoner!

There were NCC Navy cadets rowing a boat - probably practicing.

That place had few options of photography so went to a place in the complex made for viewing the lake

            Is Scorpion an animal?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Thanks. As for the scorpion. Even I found it funny. However the guy who had imprisoned it said that the scorpion was found in his house. Now would you not imprison a human intruder (get him arrested)? Just showing a perspective.

Found some flowers on the ground:

I then used the 'Force' to make of of them fly - see there is no wind!

Had there been wind -these flowers would move!

We saw some good reflection on the lake

I climbed up in the park in the complex and and saw some Aravalli's.

Clicking bikes is a must from up there

With nothing much left to do, we started back. While riding ont eh country roads, I saw Varun's head was tuned towards a small hill as his unicorn was riding on the country roads at steady slow speeds. I am a mind reader. I can read minds even through Vega helmets and I did read his mind! I read that he wanted to climb that hill. In fact, even I always wanted to go up of these random hills. They always fascinated me when I used to ride or drive on Delhi Jaipur highway. This time since had time in hand - only 60/70 kms away from home and still a whole day ahead of us, we though lets do it. So we parked our bikes. I risked putting the jacket on the bike itself and tied it to it. It was getting hot and humid and had no intentions of wearing it for the climb. We started this pic was taken from half the way up.

As we went up, the path was getting tougher to find with lots of slippery vegetation and bare stone walls. We were determined to the climb all the way up. Varun kept checking his GPS for altitude. He was disappointed that we had gone up only 20 meters. But we still had some to go

                    Bikers turned climbers:

This is when we realised we could not go up further from here.

So we went down another 10 meters and took a different path.

                    We finally reached the summit.

Then it was getting really hot and we started coming down. We could not find a single path which led all the way down. We had to look for a new path with every step.

                    It was DANGEROUS!!!

We were able to reach safely to out bikes and the return journey was quiet normal and event free. We then parted ways at the Dhaula Kuan/ Vasant Vihar bifurcation on the expressway flyover.

Total distance covers was about 145 kms for me.
