Tuesday 16th sept 2008:

Started from siliguri and sped to gangtok.

Awesome twisties.We were delighted by beauty of nature and were accompanied by river teesta.

Tried to arrange for permits.Were accompied by a local lad PG(Anup/sparsh can elaborate that better when they have time since they were mostly responsible for it)

Got a hotel room and when to click panaromas of gangtok city at dusk and twilight:

went to gangtok market for a drink and daru cheif daru commitee in team was in full swing

As chetan already mentioned, Anup to vahan bas daru peene hi gaya tha.....!!

and a kindda shocking news(as told by Anup) ... daru there cost a mere 10 rs for 50 ml...

....so around 10 pegs down...all happy...

haha very true .....This year i was just accompanyin the riders and entertaining them...if u look i am only visible in daru snaps......"darth mera naam kharab karne pe nikla hai"

wait till next year same time...i will be all set for another adventure which is already in the planning stage..."Mt.Everest Base Camp".....or prolly everything goes well it will be road trip to "Get a massage in Thailand".......

On a lighter note: The hotel you guys were staying near Sealdah - is it the Calcutta Lodge? It does look so.

no but it was in seldah...and the name was "niketan" or something...aah i asked the folks to take care of the bills while i get drunk they might have thrown it....aaah...

I have more respect for the army now, considering the hardships they face for us, to protect the border from foreign invasion, surviving extreme weather. If there is something that we could do for them it would be wonderful.
Sunny has been very active in a lot of causes and that is one reason why we look up to him but sunny can there be something done for the army/armed forces.

Literally there was a complete silence when we reached the point above and we all were in a mood totally different. Although i regret that we couldnt spend a lot of time there but whatever time we spend will always be cherished by all of us.
