    Agree that GQ's are magical and provide safety and conveyance, but isn't it too hum-drum and boring? (Practically there positives outnumber the 'souless road' negative point)

      I think the difference between my GQ trip and Karan's is that he is actually taking time out to see the places properly instead of zipping past them (read me). His is the right way to enjoy the ride. Lovely pictures and read, don't stop!

      During my trip, I was lucky to be staying in a place in Calcutta which was easy to find after taking a left off the main highway, so getting in and out was a breeze. And of course, I had eicher and google maps to help me!

          I agree, but I wish I had more days at my disposal. Something like a month or so.

          My big one is not finalized yet, so can't say anything at this point. Vitamin 'M' or rather the lack of it will derail it, but if it happens, it will be over 10,000 kms of riding through some spectacular landscape - that's all I can hint at right now!

            And as far as the lonely roads getting boring is concerned, I literally crave for such roads as when I ride, I'm the king then! Moreover, all you have to do is soak up the majestic landscape along the highway and just keep an eye on that gentle curve

                      Although it was office time and everyone seemed to be racing against each other to reach the workplace in time, exiting Visakhapatnam was a breeze and pretty soon I was hooked to the momentum and was ripping the roads. Took the first break as soon as only 34km into the ride when I fond the view along the road simply irresistible.











                      After all, this was the order of the day - just an enjoyable ride with loads of pictures and just 550 km to cover.



                      Narial Pani (coconut water) post which I decided to stop only before a few kilometers before Vijaywada to remove gloves and balaclava.



                      The stopover came at around 13.30 as I sat down by the side of the road and checked the weather in Chennai on the mobile. WTF!!! Sun shining bright in Chennai! Trrrrrrrring!! Good news! Called up one of my friends in Chennai, but no reply. To this I finally decided to hit the roads, rip it hard and reach Chennai by nightfall. After a not so filling meal at a (not so) good looking Alankar Restaurant and Bar, just at the Vijaywada Bypass, it was the time for some hardcore riding. Switched to the clear vizor and prepared myself mentally for some 100 odd km of riding in the dark.






                      Just around 70km before Chennai, pulled over to the side for some much needed rest and updated the status of the ride to my family members, who were also on their way to Chennai. The city welcomed me with a security check when I was stopped by the constable and asked for the registration certificate and driving license

                      2.2: The Stolen Tool Kit


                      Finally I was creeping along with the maddening traffic after a long, lonely ride. As fatigue started to mark its presence, I decided to settle down for the first accommodation option that came by. As I was creeping with the traffic on one of the narrow lanes, I came across the Beautymoon Lodge. Pulled over to their parking and checked out the room. Pretty much liked it, but the location of the lodge was really not tempting enough to convince me to stay there. Hence, decided to stick to the plan and check out some accommodation options in Triplicane.

                        if you could also share the Kms (start-to-stop) covered for the day. From what I understand, Vizag - Vijaywada was 550kms? How much for Vizag to Chennai then?

                                @bluevolt--Are the distance and timings much different from what you managed on the 250R?

                                The roads have limited my max no of kms to 650.

                                Want to cross 1000kms in day-light. (Once the North East corridor gets completed, will give it a try)
