Champ!!! Amazing- Much respect.
I lived- in fact I rode the GQ in your Travelouge. I dont have much words to say but its just so amazing to see young people like you riding solo and sensibly. Hits and misses are all part of the game, believe me. The bestest of us have had their share of falls. Some of us fell out of stupidity too. But as long as you have your head on your shoulder, I guess its all worth it.
Anyways, without saying much, I would like to give u a loud applause for the ride.
Ride on- ride safe
dcsIts not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

Awesome ride bro...riding the GQ is indeed an achievement considering that you cover all the diverse aspects of riding in India..
Loved and subscribed to your thread, would love to hear more about rather the most feared part of GQ, crossing Bihar and Orissa...
PS: I have heard too many things about this, no offense to anyone..Hammer the racetrack. Pace yourself on the street.

First of all, thanks for the appreciation. I really look forward for a couple of more like ride this.
And as far as crossing Bihar and UP are concerned...UP was during the day time and trust me, you never enter a city except Agra. Kanpur, allahbad and every metro is bypassed and you won't even get to know that you just bypassed it!!!
Same is the case with Bihar, I never knew when did I entered and exited Bihar and Jharkhand. However, if we talk about road conditions as a nuisance, Orissa is a pain in the ass.The best things in life are realized on two wheels!

Chapter 12
18.11.10:
12.1 Mumbai-NE 1
After such a long ride under every circumstance, a destination, 700km away seemed to be a cake walk and could be completed within 10 hours. However, Mumbai decided to negate this impression of mine and trouble me much while exiting the city. Woke up at around 4 and was in no time all geared up to leave for Udaipur. Vivek and Shashank bid me farewell in a warm way and helped me to find the way out of the city.
To my surprise, Aloo Tikki burgers seemed to have failed to keep the hunger away and I was feeling damn hungry. Pulled over to a restaurant, only to find nothing except South Indian dishes available for breakfast. Ordered a Masala Dosa cooked in pure cotton seed oil, as the menu card said. After a tummy full of an ok breakfast, zoomed off again and wanted to reach Ahmadabad as soon as possible. All through the ride, I was confused over halting at either Ahmadabad or Udaipur.
After a filling meal, it was time to kiss the NH8 once again and zoom off. Flying over bridges, flyovers and butter smooth 6 lanes, I was soon left with confusion. While the road in the front seemed to be somewhat odd, there was no other way around it. So decided to move ahead and take the way things come. Pretty soon I was getting more and more uncomfortable as no two or three wheeler could be spotted on the road. The doubt that I had in my mind soon became a confirmation when I was stopped by two assholes.
12.2 NE 1
12.3 NE1-Udaipur
All this while I was pondering over the need and necessity of this National Expressway. From 6 lanes to two lanes and they call it an expressway. Anyhow I was out of the clasps of the bliss of 6 lanes and was now riding on a single lane highway. Although single lane, the condition of the roads is not that bad and one can easily keep a decent pace. The road is single lane up till Ahmadabad, however once the city is bypassed, the eternal bliss of 4 lane highway starts and continues to mesmerize you with climbing figures on the odo and the enchanting landscape alongside.
12.4 Udaipur
Finding a place to stay in Udaipur was a breeze as I had already confirmed the place and the location of one of the hotels and had to just reach and dump myself into the bed. The streets of Udaipur had a magnetic charm of their own and were casting a mesmerizing spell on me. Just a step into the city and my heart and mind started fighting over spending one day in Udaipur. But I consoled myself thinking of covering it all together with rest of Rajasthan.
Finally found a room in Hotel Nayee Havveli for Rs200. Not only is the hotel just a stone throw away, but it also boasts a roof top restaurant and capacious rooms. Freshened my self up and ventured into the City of Places to capture everlasting memories.

Love to see your enthusiasm bruv...but what I'm waiting for is the discussion, appreciation and critique once the log is completed!
And as far as exploring the place after a tough ride is concerned. That had to be the trend as this is once in a lifetime opportunity and could not miss the highlights!!! and even that was not easy, had to rebuke and convince myself for the same...lol

Chapter 13
19.11.2010: Udaipur-Home Sweet Home
It was just the onset of winters and Udaipur was giving me chills. Last night was pretty comfortable under the thick, warm blanket and a comfy bed. The plan was to leave the city early in the morning, at around 5ish and reach Delhi by 2.00pm or 3.00pm. However, the morning alarm was put off as I wanted to enjoy a little more relaxed time, sleeping. Finally gathered some guts to wake up at 7ish and rolled out of the hotel at around 7.45. Felicity was oozing out of every cell of my body, but at the same time, I was damn afraid. Afraid as I did want to complete the ride without any further undesirable accidents. Moreover, the bike needed a service as the entire machine was shaking and was about to break into fetters.
Spotted a nice looking restaurant the posters and banners of which could be seen 14 kilometers before it actually became visible. Ordered a couple of aaloo paranthas which were down my throat in no time. Paid the bill and kissed the highway once again.
Around 200km into the ride and a strange thing happened. I honked on a truck and the sound from the horn was breaking and finally it stopped working. All this happened within seconds. Anyhow, since it was day time, I could manage without horns so kept moving. Another stretch and I noticed the horn simply hanging, stopped the bike and gave it a look. As I already said, the bike was fettering, the horn was just a part of it. The plate holding the red grill had become loose. Since the tool kit was stolen in Chennai, I had no other option than the most reliable one in such situations, the jugaad. Tilted it a bit to fix it against another bolt and the work was done!
