  • [Query] Trip From Vadodara, Gujarat To Bombay, Maharashtra

So, Me and 2 other friends are planning a trip from Vadodara, Gujarat To Bombay, Maharashtra.... This is the first time i am going on a long distance trip. I have gone to Vadodara to Ahmedabad. But i would like to know how the conditions would be etc. What all should i bring with me. I know one thing is that a helmet but not sure about the other things. How the traffic will be etc. I will be coming via NH8. Google Maps is telling me it will be 415 KMS and 6 Hour drive.....

Also, What would be a good place to stay a motel and rate and in which area is best for some fun, places to see.. drinking etc

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.....

    Thank You.

Google maps is right... its a fairly easy trip
Go through the touing thread for more tips and tricks!

Easy in terms of road... watch out for the innovas and the cars that ferry wealthy Gujju traders to and fro mumbai almost every day

        Recently completed the Golden Quadrilateral

The Vadodra - Mumbai stretch is simply a breeze except the 100-120 km stretch just before Mumbai...its simply pathetic with potholed roads, hell lot of trucks and diversions!!!

rest is simply awesome with most of it 6 laned

and G maps is fairly correct...it should be somewhere around 450km

Krunizzie: The trip should be fun till surat and bharuch, after Surat the roads have been opened up for expressway widening. Shouldnt take you more than 6 hours if you cross Manor soon. Try leaving Baroda early morning and cross Manor by 11, should be a breeze then as city traffic is considerably lesser.

Try staying in south Bombay...its an awesome experience staying there. Charming old buildings and streets bustling with great crowd...a budget of Rs. 1000 can fetch you a great deal. I stayed at hotel Volga, near McDonalds...Rs. 800 for a double occupancy AC room
