Day 16: Sightseeing in Amritsar
This day was purely for sightseeing - we hogged on Amritsari Kulchhas, went to the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and in the evening got our Patriotic Spirits high @ Atari Border.. Dinner today was a landmark of sorts… We decided to order takeaway and have food in our room… Deepak and Sumith went to Bubbys’s Chicken Corner to pick up food… The Sequence goes like this
Sumith : What shall we order??
Deepak : I am not sure, lets sample a few things and see
Sumith : Ok
Deepak : Waiter, bring us a plate of Mutton Kheema Kulcha, A plate of Chicken Kabab, a plate of Mutton Curry, and a Chicken Biriyani…
After 15 mins…
Deepak : This all tastes good, lets order the same for them as well
Sumith : are we picking up for ourselves again??
Deepak : Ofcourse
Sumith : Ok
And thus with heavy bags and enough stuff to feed 10 people, we headed back to our rooms, picking up Pastries also on the way! There are no words to describe what transcended in our room later, I am sure even the Gods would have bowed down in Homage to what was happening!!
With full stomachs later, we spent some time reflecting on the 15 days that I had passed by, laughing on the funnier moments and brooding on the more intense moments…
The Next day morning we caught our train back to Mumbai,a relaxed journey back to our homes, but with a deep yearn in our hearts to seek out ourselves again, on the saddle of our bikes, with nothing but the horizon to beckon us onwards...
Why Successful Failure?
-Our Failure to do Leh, which was our original Goal, but our Successful completion of Spiti, which is a more technically challenging route…
-Our Failure in assuming that we were a perfect group that would gell along well without any hiccups, but our Success in finding that we gelled along great even with Hiccups
-Our Failure in assuming that years on the bike should help us face anything on this trip, but our Success in finding out that we were able to face anything, albeit by learning new techniques & skills.
-Our Failure in all our assumptions about ourselves & our bikes, but our Success in learning more about both.
Thank you for taking out time to read this, we apologize that we havent put up the pics properly, still amateurs when it comes to this.. Somehow it felt like the actual trip was easier than setting up this blog!!

Loved the simplistic but entertaining narration by you. Thank you for sharing it with us.
One thing. Why did you go to Tandi and then turn back for Rohtang, whereas you could have done that from Gramphoo only? (the place where the Kaza road meets the Manali - Leh highway)" I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not" - Kurt Cobain
