Guys, I am interested in this Inter State Ride. I am riding from Cochin. Unfortunately I see that the registration date was on 11th feb. Is it still possible to join up for this ride?
I am a noob in terms of riding in groups as most of the rides I have taken are solo.1993-1997 - BSA WildCat
1998-2002 - Hercules TopGear
2002-2010 - Honda Activa

For vehicles greater than 1 year old, it is necessary to have the Original PUC irrespective of which state you are in. You will not be fined on the spot, but a notice will be sent to you registered address.Originally posted by sarathsnair View Postpraful just want to clarify ....
why we've to carry PUC ??
Attested copies is as good as carrying the originals. Don't worry, if you are not comfortable with carrying originals please carry "attested" copies.Originally posted by dpak89 View Posterr!!! bro what you say is good and the apt way to do!! i feel uncomfortable carrying original RC coz in case i lose my RC thats a near impossible task to get another for my bike since it involves a very huge amount(when it comes to RX the bribe i have to pay in RTO even for a renewal or name transfer, is min in thousands only!!!)...is there any other way like getting attested copies??
Yes, you don't want have a break down just coz the bike was not maintained well. That not only screws the trip for you, but also for others.Originally posted by aargee View PostAre you serious about this point of yours quoted below

Karthick from Coimby is doing the Tee's. It will be sent to your city rep at least a week before the ride.Originally posted by phanikar View Postnow lets come to the other important things about the ride. Mr."Lone Wolf" Praful, whos in charge of the tees???
Gokul, last minute registrations for this ride will screw up the numbers needed to book the resort. But do keep yourself tuned to this thread, people do tend to drop out towards the end and in such cases it would be possible to accommodate more people!Originally posted by gokulvarmank View PostGuys, I am interested in this Inter State Ride. .
I also have a small question, regarding riding gears. For all my rides so far I do not have any of the recommended safety gears like Cramster jackets or gloves but I have been using a properly lined windcheater as jacket, leather gloves with finger tips uncovered and leather army boots. It is unlikely that I would be able to buy proper riding gloves or knee protectors in the short term. If at all there is an opening and I am able to get a slot, will these material shortcomings hamper me?1993-1997 - BSA WildCat

You could've used a better choice on words to convey, service the ride & do few test rides on several Kms before the ISG2G.Originally posted by Praful View PostYes, you don't want have a break down just coz the bike was not maintained well. Chill man! Don't be so jumpyOriginally posted by aargee View PostYou could've used a better choice on words to convey, service the ride & do few test rides on several Kms before the ISG2G.
When I said 'you', I don't mean you aka Ganesh. I meant everyone in general. As long as one is confident that their bikes can do this trip and come back home in once piece then you are good to go...
Though I won't say the same for the 220 Fi folks...Remember last time!

Praful, I know you didn't mean me as a person & for that matter, you know about my ride very well & how I can put up on things, don't you
?
My point was to say, be it Yezdi or N250R, none of them can be guaranteed that there will be no break downs (even cars for that matter). The same forum has break down issues of few days old motocycles ranging from N250R to P220 to Unicorn & we've all witnessed it.
A simply wire cut, fused bulb or even a fouled plugs to the most difficult short electricals can detoriate the ride. A good service & upto 100 Kms ride after it & before the ISG2G service can also be considered as a preventive measure, this is all I'm trying to say.
Its a simple bind & understanding between the rider & the ride that makes the ride successful, be it 50 Kms or 5000 Kms.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Aargee: There a million things that can happen, like even an Honda might break downOriginally posted by aargee View PostPraful, I know you didn't mean me as a person & for that matter, you know about my ride very well & how I can put up on things, don't you

But, I think its pretty clear that people must ensure that their bike can be in a state to do the ride at least prior to the ride. What happens in the ride, well that's only luck.
For Eg: If you some long pending brake pads waiting to be replaced or a worn out chain sprocket...Get it fixed before the ride. Last we had a guy who's chain sprocket was bust, so bust that it would have fallen off had he not stopped to wait and see whats that funny noise next to his left foot
So all I'm saying just ensure that it can make the trip. Fix any of the known issues it might have. Unknown stuff cannot be looking into....
