                      Day 2
Today was my second day in the tour I get up at 7.30 am, get fresh, visit the temple, checked if everything was in place so that I can make a move. Finally after 30 mins of talk with the manager, I managed to get 10% discount on rent and also I got a free quick bike wash as a good gesture from the hotel . Took the same highway back initially thought that I will return to Nasik by the same highway. However at a dhaba somewhere 70 kms from dhule i met a local 407 truck driver who said to take the chandvad-lasalgoan-sangamner-pune route which was nearer than the route I had decided. Hence I started to drive towards chandvad

                      Now that’s Over Load

While in lasalgoan I was driving through the lush green fields on the state highway which was in a superb shape.

Here I found a bridge which was built in 1926. Hence, thought of taking a few pictures of it. Now don’t ask how I found it…. Okay here it is I wanted to stop to pee and around that time i could see no cover only open fields, so finally found this bridge and though that I would make myself a little free under that bridge.. it was when I saw these

                      A few more:

The lucky bushes where I pee’d

                      The road left behind

After crossing the lasalgoan train crossing I halted for a tea where I got a call from my dear friend Ameya, and guess what he called to say that on 6th which was my 3rd day of tour he was coming to ratnagiri at his native place and was urging me to revert back to my original plan to visit ratnagiri. However I had already planned many activities with a couple of my friends in Bangalore. Hence, told Ameya that I will confirm my presence by evening. i thought of reaching sangamner by 12.00 for lunch. However destiny had made some different plan for my tour.. no not a fall.. lol. As per the route planned for the day I had already taken a wrong turn which in turn had taken me near to a place which is believed that until the god does not want you to visit him you will not be able to make it upto the temple. Yes I was near to shridi just 10 kms away from him standing at a junction if I take right I go towards my original path for pune, if I take left after 10 kms I reach shridi. A single thought came to my mind if I am here in one piece then I have to visit it. Many of my friends who planned to visit shridi were not able to fulfill it, even after having all things in place. So entered shridi, decide to take lunch at the common canteen they have, though found it little unhygienic hence came back I had put all my stuff in the cloak room hand the guy with 20 rupees note and said to take care of my belonging he smiled back and said sure.. It took me 1 hour to come out of the temple. Was sure enough that I would reach pune safe and sound whatever time it takes me to start back. I have a little problem with night driving cannot bear the upper light of incoming vehicle and while in pitch black area the problem become a headache. Finally I was out of the temple at around 4.30 was geared up and ready to leave, I thought of skipping the lunch and having a light snacks so removed the wafer biscuit from my bag. Called my dad told him that I was in shridi and have visited the temple and was about to move towards pune he was also happy, called my friends in pune to inform them that I was coming for a overnight stay at their place. And while eating only one thought was all over my mind Bangalore or ratnagiri.. I was back to square 1. Started to ride towards pune. Soon was on road towards Loni which was good though I was missing the might NH 3 style road. I was thinking that not the NH3 but at least let the road be similar to the SH highway I took towards shridi from lasalgoan.

Here are some of the pics from that road:

For a couple of kms I was happy later again I was on the road thru farms however this time the road where totally F#%@d UP had some patch which was in a good condition.
Where I saw tones of suger cannes get transported

Finally around 6.00 I was near to sangamner as I was passing through some medical college or I don’t know if that was a hospital. But damn that place had B E A U T I E S filled on all the road hence, I slowed down..

It was almost black out there when I started to ride on NH 50 I must say one of the worst road in the entire journey, total loose gravels and huge pot hole it was very risky to ride even at the speed of 50-60 kmph, there was a patch I remember when I took my bike on the side muddy road because there was no difference between the two, only thing to differentiate was the loose tarmac stones, and it was safe that I was riding off the road on left hand side because in my entire ride on NH 50 I don’t even remember how many time the small stone hit me. The road was so small that only 2 truck can pass each other at a given time. For a second I also thought that I would need to get my bike serviced after this worst patch. Finally I made it to pune at around 11.00 it took me almost 6-7 hrs to cover 133 kms. After reaching at my friends I thanked god for the safe ride on that deadly road, had my dinner and went to sleep.

                                DAY 3

Was plane simple road must say indeed in a good condition. This was the point when I understood why xbhp gang targeted NH4 for attempting saddle sore. Moving future I had two option to reach Poladpur where I was suppose to meet Ameya. However I choose to go through 2nd route which was Wai-Mahabaleshwar-Poladpur instead of Mahad-Poladpur

Soon Crossed Shirwal and the heat started to take toll as less sleep mean little problem stay awake more of it the MP3 started to playing boring old song and my eyes started to close. However I was not asleep I was feeling dizzy. When I saw a lush green sugarcane Field and a juice center attached to it. That stall was serving fresh sugarcane juice, to give a proper description he was getting the sugarcane’s directly from the field and clean them then take out the juice

Had nice 2 glasses full of juice and started towards wai which was 25 kms away by now. Hence decide to have next halt at pachgani for lunch.

A pic Taken while entering the Wai.

A couple of photos before starting the ghat after Wai

                                Half Way Above

                                Reaching Pachgani

After reaching pachgani I started to look for a good food joint. Finally after a couple of mins of looking here and there found a restaurant with some good scenic view’s. Order a veg soup only to find that cost’d me 120 buck’s. however that was worth because of good open mountain view and fresh breeze of air blowing.

                                A View from the Hotel

                                a few more:

It was high time and I was running almost 3 hrs late than the schedule Ameya was suppose to wait for me at poladpur at around 2.00 and it was 1.30 and I was at mahabaleshwar, Hence called him and asked not to wait for me as when inquired with the driver around they said that the road from mahabaleshwar to poladpur was around 60 kms and was LITTLE bad in shape.

Took a pee stop at a good view which was 2-3 kms from the hotel.

Now after the lunch I had a real journey. I was told by a driver who was also halted at the same hotel that poladpur was approx 40 kms and road was not that bad….. got no word’s to say though it took me 3 hr and 45 mins to reach poladpur why.. Cause 1> the distance was 60 kms 2> the entire road was ghat 3> I don’t remember a single patch of road where I saw a clean patch not smooth patch… or just a clean patch of tarmac road.. It was visible that the tarmac was all worn out and had got formed into stones everywhere.. the road was even more dangerous than the previous day so I thought of not taking much picture and try to cover as much as possible distance during the day light.. started to move ahead soon after the pee halt I started to cross stall of strawberry’s and got tempted to halt a gulp down a few

Here is one of the strawberry pic:

This picture turned out to be a lucky one because when the farmer saw me taking the pictures he started to posse around and gave me a handful of strawberry to eat which he said had just arrived from the fields.. Lucky me…

After around 30-45 mins of riding on the bad loose gravel and opposite direction car coming on good 70-80 speed I was just hoping not to cross any bad accident. However the fate was written and soon came across a head to head accident luckily no one was injured though one of them was totally devasted why? Simple he was going home after taking delivery his newly bought showroom polished Tata Aria…

If you look at the picture you would see the condition of the road a little better in term’s that you can identify what is off road and what is on road it a color difference. That’s all..

                                35 Kms Still to go..

Well from the same place though different corner..

The only good road that I found till the entry point of the poladpur..

                                15 kms still to go..

The Back view from the same place above
                                [IMG]http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1368/img1615at.jpg[\IMG]

10 Kms still to reach poladpur..

Soon crossed 55 kms mark and started to look for a road towards poladpur while I was still descending from the Ghats, asked a motorcyclist who turned out to be a policeman. He later drived along with me till poladpur was quite a helpful guy.
Finally I made to poladpur at around 6.30 during this time I never even bother to check if the mobile had any signal. Hence I took a tea break called home and also Ameya who had reached home at around 6.30pm, now I had approx 160 kms of journey on NH17 to reach the meeting point. So soon was on the bike and started to catch the speed above 70-80 that begin a signal lane highway and the night bug had started to appear maintained the speed soon covered khed ghat and was out of it in now time as suggested by ameya that the ghat after khed are little problem prone so removed my beloved knife from the inside pocket and kept it handy. Why did I take the knife with me I remembered our beloved friend Rockzzzzzz for his marvelous descriptive log on how he got rid of the goons.. during the journey there was a blank spot where I could not even spot a single vehical coming from any direction. Hence I kept my A$$ behind a truck for around 10-15 kms. However this fellow was very much helpful. He would always signal me if there was any vehicle coming from front, thinking that I might want to over take him after that vehicle pass. As I was out of the dark area’s I reached sagmeshwar around 10.30 which was as almost the time I had asked Ameya to meet me at pali from sagmeshwar I had around 30 more kms to be covered. Finally I arrived pali after a couple of stops for chatting with Ameya for the right place of meeting. Met with all the gang who were present there to pick me yeah 4 of them had came in a car just like that. had a cup of black tea. Finally reached home around 12.30. it was a pretty sweet day. That day thought me many lesson while driving on bad road. With all the experience i went to bed which was laid in amidst of forest on all the three side. and beautiful moon light from top
