  • [Photo Feature]: 7 Days 1717.7 kms

    Introduction:
This was my first solo ride. i was nervous of doing it alone as never had experienced of begin alone on National Highways and on unknown roads. However i desparatly wanted to go for a ride. I Was planning to visit my native village from a long time as it had been more than 2-3 years since my previous visit. Also there a auspicious day to visit out family goddess temple.

    Plan:

Earlier in November i had decided that i would be visiting the native place, however this time on my bike. The first major problem "My Parents", initially they did not agree to leave me alone for the ride, hence asked my buddy Ameya to ride along with me. however by the time the dates where getting finalized chances of ameya joining me for a ride got thin. later at the end of jan it was decided that i will be my own for the ride. second problem what next for the Dhule right that is my native place. cannot just go to dhule and come back it was just one day ride. hence started calling our experienced tourer Ketan_r15 and BIRU. These guys i tell you call at any time and ask any road even if they are in sleep they can tell you which Highway to take and what are alternatives, if any extra precautions are to taken then on which road. Finally i decided that i would either go to Bangalore or Goa. i took all possible information for our experts . i must say Thank you guys for all the support. 4 days before the ride i was yet to decide Bangalore or Goa. Then i a Newpaper i saw a article about a Helicopter crash, and that was the time when i decide to visit Bangalore, Called up all my friend's there informed them about the dates when i would be in Bangalore etc etc.

Day before the ride was to commence, visited the Honda service center to get a casual check done. then went to my garage to cross check, followed by the shop from where i took the engine oil must say the owner of this shop is also a big enthusiastic of biking when i informed him that i am going a 2000 kms journey he happily got the engine oil completely change for free and that too semi-synthetic oil i was over joyed. with all the thing in place i took a quick look at my check list, had a smile on my face. went to meet my friends while returning back home went to wash my bike.

                            Day1
                            J

Made a couple of halts for photos and loo before reaching this palce

As you can see there I was about to cross a village, where this stupid and most idiotic incident happened. A person total tight with desi liquor. Jumped on the left lane and started to stop a truck, seeing this the truck driver applied supper urgent brake, screaming and scratching the road trying to save that man who is totally drunk and is approximately 200- 300 meters away, seeing this that drunken person calmly started waking and crossing the highway, even I was approximately at 80-90 kmph I zapped crossed him by taking the advantage of his walking speed and the distance between me and him before we collide. Finally I reached dhule started to search a good lodge, and found this wonderful place with private compound for parking. Interestingly the owner was there who also was a avid bullet biker. He inquired about xbhp had a good 20 minutes discussing. The best part of this place was that you can park your ride right in front of your room. Finally settled at dhule around 5.30 in evening.

Got fresh went to temple enjoyed the river side cool breeze spent almost 2 hrs in the compound of the temple feeling the fresh and cold air. Went back to hotel ordered dinner super reasonable. 1 curry+ 5 roti = 95 rupees. With this I ended my day with the memory of super straight and one of the best highways in my life. Like Ketan had said on this road you can go to the highest speed of your bike still you would feel underpowered.

Finally here are the other pictures which I took on day 1
