                                Day 3: 110 km

                                Berinag - Thal - Birthi - Munsiyari

After noon we reached the snow covered Kalamuni top, which is about 10 km before Munsiyari. You can guess the excitement in someone who had never seen snow and traveled hundreds of miles just for it. We played in the snow for two hours until we were dead tired and then continued the ride towards Munsiyari. At 4:30 pm we reached the town and booked into a hotel. The hotel owner suggested visiting the local Nanda Devi temple which was about a km from the town. But it was already getting dark and so we decided to skip, which I must say I regret it now after seeing some of its pictures on the internet. In the evening, we strolled around the market inquiring about guides for the trek to Khalia top that we had planned the next morning.

                                Day 4: 70 km

                                Munsiyari - Thal

                                Breakfast time

                                The guide

                                Day 5: 520 km

                                ThalDelhi

Like all tours, the last day was mostly un-happening and tiring. However, we did get to enjoy some spectacular sights of the Himalayas and alpine forests while passing through Chaukori and near Binsar. From Nainital, we took the highway as we had to travel during the night and by early morning of the sixth day we reached Delhi. Although we had done a few trips to the hills, but this tour was the most amazing one in our experience. The views of the snow covered Panchachuli peaks and the unadulterated landscape of Uttarakhand will always be cherished in our memories.
