3000 kms in 12 days
We started all the planning and shopping two weeks prior to the beginning of a wonderful journey. I knew Abhishek since School time, and we are friends since then
. Day 01
Abhi works in night shift, so plan was to start early morning at 4am, after his shift gets over on Saturday i.e. 06-Sep. I was supposed to reach his office sharp at 3.30 am, but keeping the tradition
, some how I managed to reach at his office by 5.30 am and by 6.00 am we were on the roads, riding. Reaching the chd highway, we took a petro break. Btw, I was on my Bullet Electra 4S and Abhi was riding the Avenger.
We decided to take our next stop in chandigarh, but some how rain devta, highway traffic and our hunger stopped us in karnal. Nothing but only having a cup of tea each we were again cruising on the highway.
Reached chd at 10.30, and decided not to stop and cross it quickly. After that we crossed Ropur and reached at the starting of the hills. Took a quick lunch break in a dhaba. Started from there and reached punjab & humachal border and from there we bought our life saving drugs, a bottle each of whisky and rum
. After driving some time in the zig zag roads, I noticed a strange sound coming out of the front tyre of my bike, tried to figure it out but found nothing. We decided to get the bike checked and started looking for the mechanic, by the time the sound really started irritating me, it became really hard for me to concentrate on the road. I stopped the bike finally and started inspecting it thoroughly. Not after much time but I found that a big nut in the front tyre, which holds the brakes, was loose and I quickly opened the tyre and tightened the nut and tried riding again and the sound was gone. I was quiet happy fixing the problem by myself
.Not zooming in the valley and moving at a very nice speed, stopping every here and there for pics and all, we reached manali by 7.30 in the evening. Before entering manali, we paid the Green Tax, 200 Rs for both the bikes and there itself we found a person offering us a room in 300 Rs. He took his bike and asked us to follow. In no time we reached the hotel, it was close to the mall road. Parked our bikes, unloaded our bags and after quick shower and two shots of rum each
, we reached the mall road. Did two things watching the chicks and clicking the pics
.This was my third visit to manali, not wasting much time we reached sher-e-punjab and had some chicken tikka, mutton shutton, rotti shotti, and all. I called the waiter for bill and asked Abhi, "yaar main wallet nahin laya, u please pay the bill" and he was like "kyaaaaaaa!!!
", I said "kya hua" and reply came "yaar wallet too main bhi nahin laya" and we were like laughing at each other
but as our room was not very far from the restaurant, I told him to wait and I'll get the money from the room. Now this was the time where rum played his role. After spending around 30 minutes I was able to find the room, which was not even 5 minutes away from the restaurant
, somehow reached the room, came back at the restaurant, and the only thing i said then was "yaarrrr sara khaya piya hajam hoo gaaya"
. It was 10.30 and we were again looking for something to eat
, found a good tea stall offering tea with bread omelette. again a session of teas and omelettes, finally went to sleep at 11
.Thanks for reading...
Pics and more logs coming soon........
