    Few days ago

Had pending leaves to expire this Financial year. Applied for 6 days reason to relax. After the leaves getting sanctioned planning starts. After a failed plan of riding in Ladakh last year, I was very desperate to do a long touring on my birdee. Earlier I had read lot about beauty of Kerala. Hence decided to do it in these leaves. Looked out for riding partners on various forums. Didn’t found any. I was afraid, I have to cancel the plan to Kerala. And have to cut it short somewhere in Maharastra only as riding solo could be a tough and risky job. May be Goa, but I have been there several times. Then I came across this one http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...lo-riders.html . And Then I can’t stop myself in planning more for Kerala. So got very much informative points on xbhp. I was ready with the Kerala Itineray. Till the last minute. I was not sure am I going to Kerala?

    Day 1 -- 26th Feb 2011,

Early morning woke up around 5.30 am. By 6.30 am was on my bike. Still my brain is asking me where am I going?. I have no answer. Started the bike just zoomed to NH 4. By 9-9.30 I was at the Pune by pass road. Just kept riding. Reached Belgaum by 4 pm. Thus decided to ride more. Reached Dharwad by 5.30 pm hence decided to take a night halt. (Total Kms 580). No pics taken on this route as the route is so dry doesn’t worth a pic.

    Day 2 -- 27th Feb 2011,

At 7 am was on my bike was ready to target B’lore today. By 4.30 pm was in B’lore. Took a night halt at my friend’s place. No pics taken today.

        Day 3 -- 28th Feb 2011,

Today the actual riding trip gonna start as I was going to move away from the boring quadrilateral. Believe me these 2 days were most boring days amongst the trip. But I was happy that I was approaching Kerala faster. Itinerary stated target Wayanad via Mysore & Bandipur forest. At 7 am I was ready with my bike. I was very eager to ride in the forest as I had never got this opportunity earlier. Few pics in the forest

Reached Kalpetta around 3-4 pm. As it was a week day got a good deal for home stay. It was at a top of a hill. It was only a year old. Some pics..

                Day 4 – 1st March

As usual I at 7 am I was ready with my bike. My Bike was covered with dew. The Bungalow was looking very beautiful. Some pics…

Today the plan was to do some sight seeing around kalpetta. Decided to target Sochipura falls. And what an awesome ride it was for 20-25 kms. Between the Tea gardens of Wayanad, full of twist and turns. Some pics…

                Reached Sochipura falls….

Next I targeted Banasura Dam via Vythiri. Another very nice ride, non predictable twists and turns. I loved it.

                Reached Banasura Dam...

After approx 2kms of trekking on both the ocassions I decided to call it as a day go back to Kalpetta and relax.

Nice ride and pics buddy. I totally agree that the Bangalore to Kerala route via Wayand is very scenic, especially after Gundalpet. I hope the Mysore-Nanjangud stretch of road is done up (?). It was pathetic last December when we rode by.
I hope you liked my thread "A Reflection On Solo Riders".

Looking forward to more pics and write up.

That's awesome for a solo ride. More information on how the bike behaved, interesting things you came across and of course your own feelings when you were all alone on the road with just the sound of your bike especially on the wayanad route would be much appreciated here. Looking forward to more on this thread, cheers

All the roads in Kerala are done up. Accept very few stretches. 75% of the times I was on smooth tar roads in kerala. Of course I liked your thread "A Reflection On Solo Riders" also I thank all the solo riders who contributed to the thread and inspired me to go with the ride.

I was confident that my bike will not come across a single problem unless I do something to it, as it was only 4 months old .

On the trip I never felt like I am alone while riding. I always felt that someone is with me. That was my bike. And when you ride solo you have complete independence. You can go wherever you want. Its a very different feeling. You will start loving your bike more when you tour solo.
