I remember when I was in Goa I used to ride my kinetic honda, there was a shining black rx100 that our neighbor had. I never got to ride it but as a kid, I always peeped out from the window when the rx left. And while riding the kinetic I dreamed as if I was riding an rx
. Well I guess that is how legends are made.
Even while I was booking the cbr I did give RD a serious thought.
RIDE HARD... RIDE FAST... RIDE SAFE....

The RD is a great bike and I lusted for it for a long time. The sound of the bike still makes my heart melt. The brakes suck (not at par with the power of the bike) but an upgrade is not too cumbersome either.Originally posted by tulinisarg View PostEven while I was booking the cbr I did give RD a serious thought.
I am a sucker for reliability and a simple breakdown causes me a lot of pain. Knowing this, my friend (an avid RD lover and owner for many years) asked me to lay off the RD. Parts are hard to source, a good mech is even harder to find and spending weeks together in a garage getting the bike to run is not my cuppa. I'd rather ride her than see her strip in a garage
.
That said, there are good bikes out there that dont have niggling issues and are very reliable. Finding such bikes is like striking gold at the ends of a rainbow.
So if you can afford one, go for it.... but dont get an RD for daily use. Keep it for the occassional blast on the open highways.... in addition to the CBR for city and highway runs

You missed a HyperSpeed ride on the way back. We did some 100 odd kms in about 1 hour 10 mins or so after we left from Thoppur! I know you must have done the same or maybe faster, but it was fun doing it as a group!Originally posted by lakhanironak View PostI do feel guilty about leaving the fast/slow group of BLR from Thoppur on the return leg coz I wanted to now ride ultra fast as I was late for a 'meeting/date' with my girl (dil ka mammla hai yaar
).
Thanks Ronak, I'm just glad you guys had the patience to be led by a slower bike!Originally posted by lakhanironak View Post@Praful : Great job on being the lead for all of the 1300 kms. I don't know how you did it, but it is a tough job leading such a large group for such large distances.
Will do, Will do... someday!Originally posted by xinfii View PostDon't think twice. Get it!

Yep, pretty much it would. But a single pot motor will not scream like a Banshee from Hell at 13K RPM!. Powering out of a corner and pinning the throttle to blast from 40 something all the way to 100 with that screaming motor is something that was unforgettable. Honda's are too smooth to give this kind of an experienceOriginally posted by n_aditya View PostApparently the CBR250 can raise a lot more than just hair on your spine.

Just kidding guys

fantastic..

You got that right.. But there's always a next time...Originally posted by aargee View PostWe're damn jokers!!! Myself, Andy & Deepak should've posed a photo shoot on our dying Rx's. Missed opportunity

Yep, there were two of them. I first saw them in front of our hotel in the morning. A few of the BLR guys actually had a long chat with them, maybe one of them could share a few details about what all they talked about!Originally posted by lijok View PostWhere is his buddy? I saw two of them in TVM couple of weeks back. and they were pretty confident in the chaotic traffic...

The ninja is the most fun bike in a corner. The Ninja is one bike (until the cbr makes it to the roads) where you can whack the throttle open mid corner or brake late or trailbrake etc. without crapping in your pants.
I am loving this thread and thanks to everyone for the pics. Although i couldnt make it to the ride, the pics give me a glimpse and a feeling of being in Munnar. Hats off to the photomotographers for all the awesome clicks.
