and you got me wrong I am not big fan of Lavasa road NH4 is something I njoy the most I usually do Sunday Breakfast in Lonavala which is on Top of my list for Sunday rides
Yeah actually we saw a lot of bikers there.

I guess I misunderstood your comment. Sorry for that.
Every Sunday breakfast at Lonavala . Try Rishabh dhaba just 8 Kms before khopoli. Its a perfect dhaba where truck drivers stop and the taste is superb and not to miss its damn cheap.

Whenever we travel on NH4 Rishab Hotel is on top of our list.

the parts where you mentioned about the lady at a signal in the early hours, the TATA sky in the rooms preceeding the actual build-up .. these are keen observations, especially made by bikers if not other people.
Keep it up, those were the best lines of your log for me.

Secondly, doing Lavasa with varied level of riders is like a training day with a weak-link. you have to stop and teach at every new-step and then watch for improvement.if you consider the corners on these ghats , there are decreasing radius turns , especially one before you enter the Lavasa gates which threaten to throw you off the cliff. Not Happening !

Heres my case for the ghat-policing.Imagine your newbie friend is too fast into a corner and there is not only a bus coming at him but also a few vehicles PARKED in the opposite lane.its a disaster waiting to happen, especially with the no. of blind corners Lavasa has to offer.

lastly,i dont know what the seniors around would advise but IMO while riding in a group try not to leave the amateur alone , under pressure and performing to keep up. instead you should escort him through most of the tough parts.

Keen obv: If an R15 is lagging behind on the Palm-beach road, hug the biker.give him confidence.

Nice log, cant wait to ride to lavasa.

Good point there....Lavasa is infected with all blind turns...but yes the rider needs to be cautious too when riding on two wheels with no judgement at all.....

The best part of lavasa is a night trip...man there are no street lights and all those twisties ensure you get high on a bike.....all you hear and see is the engine revving and rev limiter blinking!!!!

Hey great trip log guys !!!

I remember, when i was studyin in Pune 2 years ago, the construction of Lavasa was underway. We had left for Lavasa from Hinjewadi at 12 in the night and reached by 1-1:30. However, we were greeted by a shocker that bikes were not allowed inside. We parked our bikes near the first gate, spent the night on the road and got up at the crack of dawn to see Lavasa from the top of the hill !!! Not even half way through the construction, but still it stood there...mesmerizing...and inviting in all its splendour.

Thank you guys for reviving those memories...

Can't wait to go there again and finish what we had left incomplete...

Thanks. Yeah I think bikers always have a closer touch with the surroundings as compared to others. And the rider is right now in learning phase of touring and it will take some more time before we take him out on NH17.

IMO riding in ghats during nights is far more easy than during day.

Nice trip buddy. And keen observations too. I too didn't like Lavasa because of the reasons you mentioned. I went there to book a hotel for a big conference, but the whole thing was appearing as a big Work In Progress, and were only selling dreams.

The road is enjoyable though. Good snaps! Keep sharing.
