Riding a RX100 at 100 is always risky on public roads, but you can try it at long straights outside city, but only if you are confident.
Always wear proper riding gear.
If the alignment is not right, (mostly on old bikes) even at 60 under hard braking RX can give you a hard time. For this one can try hard braking at high speeds on empty roads to understand how the bike behaves so that counter steering techniques can be practiced in case of a skid. This will give more confidence on the road in such situations.

@satishg - Somehow missed your post, just saw it. I agree with your points here. The RX can be tricky at times, especially with a pillion. Had quite a tough time on our BLR/KL ride last December on the Thamaraserry ghats where the roads were really bad at that time. I am filled with nostalgia on reading your post. Abso heartening to meet a biker AND his wife of about the same age as my wife and me on this forum...
In 1995, I had done Kapurthala-Chandigarh-Manali-Kulu-Palanpur-Pathankot-Kapurthala on my trusty KB-100RTZ. It was the very first trip on a bike for my wife and was she hooked!
Then in 1996, both of us did Pune-Kolhapur-Goa-Ratnagiri-Pune on the same and still trusty KB-100RTZ. Keys lost in the sand, had to hot-wire the ignition, policeman giving suspicious looks, the whole deal. The three of us had a blast on the beaches. Sun, sand, sunsets, man, those were the days...
Nowadays, it is getting well nigh impossible to pull time out of the kids' school and class routine. But my wife has promised my new CBR 250R that we would do Goa again this year!
Great travelogue. Regards and congrats to Mrs ridermax. Madam, you do have the wanderlust so typical of tru-blue bikers. Let it roll...

A small thought - since both Mrs rider and you love biking, did you think of investing in a little bigger bike? You know, something like the CBR 250 or the P220.
Our KB-RTZ tours used to be great but due to the small engine and low gearing so typical of these town bikes, we were quite slow on the highways. The CBR and P220 are great on highways - just the right amount of power to keep you at around 80+ kmph, do so quite safely and yet frugal enough so that you don't have to sell your shirt for fuel ;-)
Another advantage is that the pillion seat on both is better than the RX and the KB; the P220's specially so. The Prime cum Finance cum Home cum External Affairs cum Education cum Culture et al Minister must be kept happy, mustn't she !!!Comment
