Chikmagalur-Hassan-Belur-Halebidu can be done on a single stretch. You might reach Sringeri only by evening or even night.

Once again I stress, don't miss riding Agumbe ghats; add to that Manipal, which is just a few Kms from Udipi.

Not sure if you're making to Mangalore via Hassan/Chikmagalur, if so, then don't miss Dharmashala, the mistake I did last time.

And when you're making to Sringeri, give a try to Horanadu & Kudremukh, they're worth visiting.

And why're you missing Kollur Moogambiga temple? Also remember, roads are worst after Bhatkal, you can keep an average of 20-30 Kmph for hours + offroading experience.

If you like commercial kind of temples, then you can visit Murudeshwar.

      Lijo cheatta, questions for you...

      AND

I'm confused!!! I said TVM-Alapuzha-EKM route is 220 Kms & TVM-Kottayam-EKM is 240 Kms. So, which two ways are 220 Kms either way?

News to me . So is that Alapuzha, Sherthala stretches patched up or laid down now? And what about Alapuzha during the rain? Wouldn't it be flooded like island?

Whoa!!! From Changanassey towards Alapuzha & then to EKM is it? Instead why not take the Kollam-Karunagapalli route?
The two routes I meant are
      1. TVM - ALPY - CHN (via NH47 full)
      2. TVM - Changanassery(MC rd) - ALPY - CHN (NH).

These two routes are almost the same distance of 220 kms.

Until and unless required, no one will go via Kottayam as the roads are bad... will shake the bones out of you!!

Alapuzha - Cherthala is good now.
Flooding, if at all, wont hit the NH... not so sure about the Changasserry - Alapuzha route... but never heard of it being blocked due to flooding (In my limited knowledge).

Why Changanassery - alapuzha - CHN is coz, until Chengannur(which is before Changanassery, Thiruvalla) the MC road is wideeeeee and so good. Less traffic also makes it a breeze.. but yeah, watch out for those damn speed breakers.. the small ones.. then until Changanassery also relatively ok raods... Chaganassery to Alapuzha again good roads, scenic. Alapuzha to CHN is mostly good... Hence

@BijaliBakra... err ElectricGoat, all the best. Looking forward to seeing you at TVM and for the G2G...
