  • [Photo Feature]: Shillong to Cherrapunji : My Maiden Ride in Meghalaya

Shillong was the sixth city in a row on our xBhp Magazine conference tour of India. We were very glad that we made it to this city nestled in the hills. The journey to Shillong was a little long drawn out affair. We had to take aa flight from Hyderabad to Kolkatta, then to Guwahati an dthen finall hire a cab from Guwahati to Shillong (which took us 3 hours).

Conrad was waiting for us with Nandu at the Me Casa hotel in Shillong. We checked into the room and after a round of cold coffee we rested in the fantastic cool weather in our rooms. I almost thought once that the AC was on inside the room!

Later that evening we had a fantastic time with approx 50 people in a hall that was booked for the conference (thanks again to JDan and Conrad!).

The other highpoint of our visit to Shillong was our ride next day to Cherrapunji. Conrad had graciously given his Ninja 250 to me. It couldnt have been better for me!

For the time being here is a teaser:

Wonderful! It's lovely to see Shillong after quite a long time. Can't wait for the pictures to follow; it's been 2 years now since I've been there.

A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

It was a pleasure meeting Sunny and Praveer. I am really sorry the rest of the members could not join us for the ride ( you know the reason ). I am more in love with my Ninja after you took those sharp turns beautifully. I was crazy looking at you zoom. I hope you too had a good time riding with us. Sorry Praveer i could not arrange a Bullet for you. There was no one to ride it to the Hotel. Next time I will assure you that the bullet will be waiting for you .
@ Inder Sir. Yes i booked the bike from Pune and got it after six months. I came down to Pune just for a day to ride it and then after two weeks it came by courier to Gauhati and then i rode it to Shillong .

Finally a ride in the North East! Firstly let me thank JDan and Conrad for making this a possibility! Well I must admit I am very bad with geography as I was really surprised to know that Cherapunjee is just 65 kms fro Shillong! But the moment we came to know we were raring to go!

Clicked some pics with the iPhone and edited them on the iPhone! Hope you all enjoy.

Now waiting to get back there and ride longer!! Already missing it!

@Jdan/Conrad again thanking you guys for all the help and a GREAT RIDE!
