Thank you. I took the traffic cool, as I was sure about not doing 2000k. But yeah, Hyd traffic was terrific

This is a real achievement esp on a harley sportster with indian road conditions. I am sure the windshield was a big boon to keep the wind off the chest & reduce so much fatigue.
Thank you Haroon Bhai. Windshield was definitely helpful, it protected me from wind as well as lot of flies. Otherwise, my jacket would have changed its color

would like to meet you and your ashley one day..btw can i know the fuel range of the bike and number of times you stopped for refuelling??
Thank you. With good fuel, I was easily able to cruise for 200kms. With bad fuel, it dropped to around 150kms. In total, I did around 13 stops for fuel for a total of around 2250 kms.

Reminds me of my own SS 2 weeks back although that was unofficial - without any proof.. I covered 1604 kms in 23 hours at a stage when I'd never done anything above 260kms in a day! It was a good experience..

A horrible bump at a toll booth put me off too..

Must have been heavenly cruising at 130 with that amazing sound all around you

Congrats! And yeah - Your log makes the whole attempt sound too easy
Thank you and wish you all the best for your official attempt.

I was expecting rains and bad roads, so that was fine. Except for the last few hours, it was infact quite smooth.

      Had light and ride quality

Sri I've got a few questions
How was the headlight beam intensity and spread considering the small light it has ?
      Ride quality?
Did u have worries about strangers meddling with your ashley when parked unattended say In a hotel? Any such experience?
Did you feel the need for the digital fuel meter as you have to plan your next stop in advance for premium fuel?
how did you put luggage on it do you have special saddle bags or
      Cramsters ?
      Thanks a lot in advance
It must've hurt to see her all dirty after the ride eh?

        Sri,
Good to see the Iron stand up to Indian Road Conditions, were there moments with the bottom scraping? Only crib was a bigger fuel tank could have served you better.
Kudos for your wonderful achievement and proud to be a Bengalurean to read this post Keep them coming

Headlight is average as its not very powerful. Spread was fine.
I went on both good and bad roads. She handled quite well.
Fuel meter would be nice to have. I followed reset of Tripmeter B to zero when the fuel indicator glows and filling to full tank within next 40 kms. Premium fuel is again nice to have. It was happy with fuel with any bunk (mileage was less with local bunks ).
I just carried a bag on the rear seat. However, It caused some damage to rear fender and would not suggest to anyone without back rest and sissy bars.
I was more happy to get her handle the ride so smoothly and not worry her getting dirty. In Kannada there is a saying "kaye kesaradare baye mosaru"

No bottom scraping in the entire ride as it was on highways. While bigger fuel tank could have been less fuel stops, it would have also given less breaks to the butt

@srisetty: Hats off to your riding&passion!
Kudos to your family too, for supporting this feat.
              I liked the pilot&navigator part-well described!
Also, sometimes when network is unavailable, sms will also do!
I have one doubt though-how were you able to procure 97 octane fuel on the way? Or did you use octane boosters?

Thank you Sarvajit. I started of with Shell super, then was normal petrol all along... Harleys are happy with 91 octane and don't need 97 octane.

Nice ride report. Your type is a rare one, most people with exotic bikes just go to the local cafe on weekends to pose with such bikes. Respect...

Here is some post ride info for the formalities.

I was in a confused state with the approach for sending the documentation. Many thanks to Ajay (Strider), I scanned them and sent over email. This is the fastest approach and worked well for me. Attached are the documents sent by email. Note that I had put all of them in a zip file and named them clearly to make the verification easier.

I prepared the Map and showed all the fuel/stop points on it. Remember that the person verifying the documentation is not familiar with our cities/town.

Payment was done using a Paypal account. I created a new one for this purpose.

Nice ones Sri, I am assuming that you have sent the photographs of the ODO readings to IBA as part of your supporting documents ?

Getting the IBA number means that your ride has been accepted and certified, now its time to wait for the certificates and other goodies to arrive

                          Many Congratulations again

I have not sent any odo photos. In fact, I have not sent any photos at all. I guess that something like that might be required only for supporting any questions.

I hope to receive the kit soon and I would put up the photos.

                            Thank you again
