      Prelude:

Sitting in office and scrolling through the magnificient logs that people all over India have written again and again about this wonderful place of lama. I was as always sneaking a look here and there (Avoiding the glares from my senior Though he never glared at me :P) and was enjoying the beautiful vista which was right in front of my eyes. It was as I was teleported to the surreal place and I was not aware of the real activities that has been happening around me. Sudden tap on the shoulder and here we are: back in the cruel world which do not have any respect for the people who dreams with their open eyes.

Conversation Between My senior and me:
Senior: Aur kya chal raha hai Sahaab.(he always called me with my surname followed with Sahaab always in informal discussions)
Me : Kuch nai Just going through the snaps, Sit have a look.
Senior: Cool stuff!! This is awesome and all stuff.
Me : Sir, one day I will go there for sure and will share the pics with you.
Senior: Are rehane do; tum bas baate hi karo pichle 1.5 saal se yahi bol rahe ho.
      Me : Grrrrr

Another Conversation : whole Team goes for a treat.

Senior : Yeh dekho in sahaab ko(pointing towards me) ; pichle 1.5 saal se India ka map and leh-ladhak ki photos hi dekh rahe hai, ja toh paayega nai kahi.
      Me :GRRRRR

My senior was a good fellow and he never meant to hurt or embarass me in any way, may be it was his way of motivating me and he was among the happiest lot after hearing about this trip completion.

I was in Pune till the beginning of this year, and as this dream trip was not getting materailized from there. I was frustrated and dejected to the core of my heart and one day all of a sudden one night I decided enough is enough, and thus I shifted my base to NCR(And soon I landed here by march).

Working in NCR(though debatable) after Pune was like a crude shock to me. hot and humid and what not; Anyways I have told myself no time to crib and I started doing preparations for the reason I was here.

Planned a ride to Spiti Valley in April(with maange(dost ke dost :P ki bike ), though we had to turn back from Nako due to some bike problem;but indeed it was a good learning experience for me.
Anyways I waited with my breath on hold for June 1st week and the day I got to know that Manali-Leh Road is open. I started giving final touch to my preparations and then finally my journey began on 10th June (a week after road was opened for LMV's) from Ghaziabad(Indirapuram)
Some more pics: clicked between Chandigarh and Rohtang

I donno how..but I am going through the same kind of situation from last 2 months. I always sit and read Leh blogs n check out the breathtaking snaps taken by fellow bikers. And another collegue, who did his Leh trip in a Car last year always comes and teases me.
He says..kya yaar humesha photo dekhta hai, woh jagah ka feelings tujhe photo me nehin milega. Bunk maar...Job chod de...paisa nehin hai to credit card pe uthaake absconding ho jaa, waise bhi Leh me koi recovery agent jayega nehin. Par jaa..., And me..always the same answer: I will do it one day!!!
Donno when that day will come

Thanks Hyperion!! .....Tanglang la sent shivers down my spine for sure with the FZ behaving erraticly at high altitudes. I drove as fast as possible both on ascend and descend. If you are asking about the road conditions than I would not rate it in bad category.

Ahh and that beer was the reason I tossed and turned all through the night. It was a wrong decision and I already have started advising people against boozing at high altitudes.

But alas! That beer did help us in celebrating our journey till that day.

And I have started advising my enemies to make sure they are always atleast half-tipsy at all times to avoid the effects of AMS.
